Moon By Night

It was simple but everything what you need. Back to the roots! No luxury - if you need this you are at the wrong place and island. Good bed, but no extra bedsheets. Very good cafe- brilliant start in a relaxing day, my advise: start like this every day. Nice conversation with the owner. You also get good tips and he organized things if you need anything. The rooms are very cozy, clean and comfortable and look out onto the Mekong River. The location for this island is good if you want to have ease of access to restaurants and the bit of nightlife there is while also being a 10 minute walk away from it. There is always the option of cycling with ok bikes provided at a good rate. There is sort of communal space on the balcony that runs across the front of the rooms to meet other people. The host is extremely helpful and onsite to help at anytime.

not much to not like! I think the islands wifi is unstable at times so no reflection on the accommodation. Its not exactly an experience of nature as it is a slightly built-up area, but its quiet and accessible and the river is just there with cafes along it where you can sit and experience the tranquility of the large expanse of water.

Large, comfortable and clean bungalows with good working AC (which is a blessing on Don Det). Darren the owner will set you up with anything you need, he’s a great guy! We wished we could’ve stayed longer. Highly recommend.

Absolutely everything was fantastic. Darren is an absolutely one of a kind host, who will make your stay just perfect. Very clean room with big bathroom, hot shower and an amazing bed. We can absolutely recommend this place!

Good location for sunset, helpful owner who picked us up from the boat and gave good recommendations. Drinking water is provided. Aircon works very well and the room was clean.

The whole time we were at Moon by Night was great. Rooms, bedding, bed (which was big and comfy) and bathroom were clean. The room was well equipped with fridge filled with beverages at fair prices, cold air-con, fan, table inside and outside etc. The little veranda outside your room is great to look over the river and catch the sun set. Darren makes the place what it is, he was forever helpful and always up for a chat. Just a chill and genuinely nice lad. Any issues or anything needing booking etc. he is very knowledgable and will be up front and honest with you. We couldn’t fault anything with our stay - we extended an extra 2 nights. Just remember you are coming to an island in the middle of a river, in the middle of nowhere. The locals here are busy working and living off the land, there is going to be the odd animal noise or the odd bike going past. It’s all part of the experience, you’re on a small island not a resort.
