Blue Swallow Motel

Last week was the third time I’ve stayed here in the past couple of years. This was the final night of my five week road trip from Arizona to the east coast. Rob Federico and his wife Dawn take much pride in this place. He has assigned me Room 1 each time. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. Rob is quite a chatterbox and we enjoyed coffee together in the motel lobby. Highly recommended. (Nopets. )

We really enjoyed our nights stay at the Blue swallow motel , quirky, unique a real step back in time, the neon signs in the evening makes for a lovely setting . The Owners were a great couple friendly, welcoming, & informative. We loved how you could walk over in the morning to help yourself to a brewed coffee or tea from the reception come shop before we continued on our journey ... many thanks for a great stay 👍✨️💯😊

One of the most iconic stops of our Route 66 trip. Book early and then enjoy! It was like time travel. The rooms were extremely clean and comfy. Probably the best nights sleep we had on the entire trip. The beds were great, the room was quite and peaceful and simple but nostalgic. The owners/hosts could not have been nicer or more accomadating. The owner took you personally to your room and showed you all around the property. Who does that??? The attached garages to the motor court were just adorable. You felt like you were staying in a motel like in the Cars Movie.

Throwback to grandma's era, but everything works and the place is spotless. Rob and Dawn are perfect hosts. WiFi could be a bit better (room 5).

This was a very spur of the moment trip but one that told us we’d be back. Staying at the Blue Swallow was like stepping back in time, like being at my grandmother’s all those years before. The decor was perfect to fit the 1950”s era. The bedding and mattress were so comfortable and gave us a great night’s sleep. We look forward to coming back!

I have seen this motel many times on YouTube and it was a must stay on our Route 66 road trip. Owned and run by a fantastic couple, Robert and Dawn, who were very informative and gave us a brief history of the motel and Robert personally showed us to our room. Will definitely be back again next year as we are coming back over from Ireland for the Route 66 centennial celebrations

It was like staying with family. From the greetings when we arrived, the homey vintage rooms, and the small town vibe. We truly felt welcome.

This is a must stay for Route 66 travelers. Robert the owner was an incredible host. The room was clean and nostalgic with a touch of modern.

It is the quintessential Route 66 experience. The hosts were very friendly, and communication before our stay was excellent (an email reminder a few days before and not charging until we arrived). It is a true motor inn, so if you have a mid-sized vehicle or smaller, you will be able to pull into the vehicle openings. Our truck was too big, but there was plenty of room to park behind the lobby. The rooms are very clean, and ours had the original tile work. The bed was comfortable, and we hardly heard a sound all night long. We also received free admission to the Historical Odeon Theatre downtown. If we are ever in the area again, this will be our go-to place to stay.

The motel was in the process of being repainted when we arrived to check in at 3, but the owner was out there greeting us and reassuring us that he'd check us in as soon as he was able. It gave us a chance to wander and take photos of the grounds, so no big deal. After check-in, he gave us and another couple the history of the motel and took us on a tour of the grounds, to show us where the washer and dryer, etc were. He led us to our room, Room 2, which is one room away from the road, so we were concerned about road noise, but after the hot-rodders got done cruising the street with their noisy cars, it was quite pleasant (keep in mind we do bring a white-noise machine and turn the A/C to "on" when we stay in hotels). The bed was comfy and the pillows were not too bad. In all, we'd definitely stay again if ever in the area! What a trip, to be able to stay in such an important piece of American history.
