USAbsolutely wonderful hotel! The owners are the nicest, friendliest people you could meet! They give everyone a personal tour of the Motel upon arrival. It is exactly what you would think of for a Route 66 experience! This was definitely our favorite overnight stay of our entire trip! I do recommend booking ahead of time, since there are only 13 rooms (part of the charm). Also, be aware that the owners close the lobby and go to their residence (rightfully so) at 9:00 pm, so you do have to check in before then. However, you will want to check in early anyway, so that you have time to sit out on the porch and chat with other Route 66 visitors!
USAnother perfect stay the Blue Swallow. Still the same authentic Route 66 Motel. A piece of history still today as it was yesterday. Friendly owners dedicated to keeping it same. Spotless rooms, good coffee in the mornings. Wonderful neon and ambience
A step back in time when life seemed easy. We arrived on July 4 to the smiles of Dawn and Robert. Amazing hosts. Rob gave us the history of the motel as he guided us to our room. Everything is authentic from the 40’s to 50’s. The original neon at night will give you the feeling of euphoria. Highly recommend.
USYou have to be intentional to stay here, it’s popular so book in advance. Other hotels are identical, boring and impersonal, but here the owner walks you to your room, explains the amenities and how everything works and what its history is. Pull your car into your own garage, sit outside and chat to your neighbors then wait for the neon to kick in and start taking pictures. Route 66 is alive and when in this little slice of nostalgia and peacefulness. We will be back, it’s worth changing your stopover to stay.
