Greenhead Hostel

Location, with a lovely cafe/restaurant and a hotel for a pint in front of a log fire

Good value and close to Hadrian’s wall path; good having the option for dinner, breakfast etc over the road.

Beds and pillows could have been comfier.

Outside looked good. Good communal space and well equipped kitchen

The outside of the property looks good but the inside needs the bedrooms and bathroom refurbishing. The bathroom was basic with a shower that didn’t work properly. If you compare this hostel to other independent and YHA Hostels it has to improves its facilities.

Bedrooms were clean and tidy, great to have towels supplied and Kitchen was excellent!

We had a single female in our party who was staying in a single room on here own. During the night some else used their room key to open the door and come into her room. to be woken up by someone walking into a private room at 2.30am and switching the light on is really NOT good.

I had my breakfast in the hotel part, it was lovely & the staff were very helpful.

The shower facilities could be improved.

The hostel is part of the adjacent hotel complex which serves good food. The hostel itself also has excellent kitchen facilities and a large communal area with a quiet room. It offers everything you need from a hostel including a drying room.

Inconsiderate local drivers when crossing the busy road between the hotel and the hostel.
