Don Som Riverside Guesthouse

Very kind and hard working people constantly trying to improvise. Hospitality and Food is worth trying. A place to be with nature. It's a wonderful place for those who like to enjoy time alone and away from the Party Islands. You can watch the sunrise if it's not cloudy. Very nice relaxing place directly at the river with a few bungalows. Not a fancy, touristy place but very good value. I love it. Out of guesthouse only local people at Don Som island. Owners/ staff are very friendly and caring, helping with organization (which you need if you want to go to Don Det/ Don Khon but easy in the end). Good kitchen at the guesthouse.

Maybe bycicle to rent would be nice. Scooter is possible. For the island walking only was also fine actually. Ony info: No WiFi, just get yourself local SIM

Where do i start? Now, sure, you need to find and get on a ferry and move around on an island that doesn't have roads on Google maps - since it has no roads. You'll have great directions and communication with the staff, but you have to figure out. Still reading? Well, then, this is the place you dream of when you dream of visiting Laos. Lay on a hammock and watch the sunset on the Mekong, eat dinner absolutely fantastic food and walk around the footpaths of a farming community. Have the time of your life.

Beautiful place, the island was so serene and the food at the guest house was incredible! The owners were so lovely and helpful.

This is one of the BEST places I have ever stayed in (of any place I have ever been to). This is the true Laos You don't need to get far from Don Som guesthouse, but it's you do you will be rewarded with a big amount of authentic things in Laos. Booking this place = making yourself a big favour

Very nice guesthouse. The food is delicious and the location is great. There is a shared bathroom and no internet.

No mosquito net in the rooms.
