The room was amazing

The staff are constantly trying to sell gou stuff, whether it be fries when u only asked for a beer, espresso martinis when you only asked for water or overpriced tuctucs

Had a very negative experience due to bed bug infestation in the dorm I was placed in. I was lying on the bed during the evening and received multiple bites then noticed visible bed bugs crawling in the bed sheets and on the wall. I checked the bunk opposite on other side of room and there was insects crawling on outer layers of sheets also, and similarly on the other bed above me. I could not sleep in the bed so I went and sat on the couch in the living room and there was also bed bugs out there. I messaged the hosts on WhatsApp and on booking.com messenger and never received any reply. I stayed up until 5am and then walked to the train station. Wanted a refund but there was no one there to discuss this issue with in person and I had to leave for the train to Colombo. I’ve never seen an infestation of bed bugs as visible as this before and the fact that some mattresses were removed from the room and that I was the only guest in this room made me think that they were aware of the problem prior to my stay. I had sent them photos and videos of this. Screenshot attached here. Had to do laundry for my whole backpack to ensure the bugs were gone. Room also quite warm with just fan for cooling and no air conditioning. The bathrooms are outside so you need to walk outside to use them even in middle of the night. There was a dead goldfish floating upside down in the small pond next to the toilet. Pool has not been cleaned recently. Very different than the photos on the page.

The stuff don’t speak english, tried to overcharge me, the wifi doesn’t work. The weirdest thing were the boys working there and it made me uncomfortable. Not recommended
