Esencia Hostal Terminal Oaxaca

I’m absolutely in love with this place. This was my first dorm experience, and the first thing that impressed me was how clean everything is. The staff is very friendly. But the most important thing is that they have a 24-hour reception — my ADO bus arrived in Oaxaca late at night, and they let me in without any problem at around 12:30 a.m. I slept really well :)

It can be a bit noisy at night, and there’s no kitchen. But that’s not a big deal — there’s coffee in the shop downstairs, and there are tons of cafés and food spots all around.

Read the reviews, but keep in mind that this hostel has really taken the negative reviews to heart and worked on improving itself. It’s easily an 8 or higher right now. The beds were comfy, and both the linens and the blanket were clean and smelled nice. The hostel was very clean overall, with staff cleaning the floors at 6 am, even though I was the only guest there. The location is priceless, especially if you’re arriving in Oaxaca at night. It literally took me 1 minute to walk there from the bus station. The staff was very friendly and helpful and even let me check in at 1 am. You can’t beat it for the price! 🤙

Hot water in the shower would be nice, but hey, it’s Mexico. It can be a bit loud and bright at night due to its proximity to the bus station, but that’s nothing my AirPods and a sleep mask couldn’t fix. More power outlets in the rooms would be welcome as well.

Está al lado de la terminal de Ado, lo cual lo hace comodísimo. Muy buen precio y es funcional. El personal amable.

No te dan llave de la habitación y eso me dió un poco de inseguridad. Igualmente lo comenté y muy amablemente me cedieron las llaves ya que era la única en la habitación. No tiene áreas comunes ni cocina. Por lo que si buscan conocer gente no es la mejor opción. Los baños están un poco dejados. Con un poco de arreglo y limpieza mas profunda creo que podrían mejorar. No tienen servicio de guardado de equipaje pero luego de insistir un poco me permitieron dejarlo por unas horas.

Ubicación

Hacía frío y no se me proporcionó alguna manta caliente , tampoco toalla de baño, y la organización de las camas.
