A small guesthouse, 4 rooms and living room/kitchen, very clean, rooms with several beds, but accessible as singles. Fully equipped kitchen with anything you might need for your stay. Decent price, close to the city center, near the University, a few minutes walk from the bus station, 10 minutes to the supermarket and the city center. The very kind and friendly staff were there for any need, including suggesting trips or helping us with a taxi. Special thanks to Julia, with whom we tried for two nights to meet Aurora and did not give up until we were successful! I will come back to Longyearbyen with great pleasure and will definitely stay at Ruskiy Dom!

A fairly new place by the looks, down by the fjord and snowmobile sales lots! Gorgeous views from the end of the track over the fjord. Enthusiastic and informative staff who run the hotel and also a small shop of Slavic goods in at the back (the front of the building is not the side you'd expect coming from the centre of Longyearbyen!). It's really a hostel not a hotel, but the room was warm, clean and comfortable, the showers and toilets well maintained, and the kitchen area well equipped with a great view over the hills and town. Overall it's a really nice, and very good value, place in a really quite magical part of the world.
