Aurora Queen Resort Igloos

The hospitality from Nina and Pasi was exceptional. Very personalised service and made us all feel like home during our stay there. The resort is clean, peaceful and not congested and thus relaxing and comfortable with a lot of private space. Food was great including the breakfast that was part of the room package. The walk of the trail around the resort was another highlight for us besides the snowmobile safari and reindeer safari.

It would be even better if the airport transfer could be exclusive and included in the room package.

What’s not to love about this property and the staff, especially the owners. We were greeted with a warm welcome in their beautiful main building with cappuccinos sitting in front of a warm fire. The remote location was exactly what we wanted, with it still being close enough to get to town. This place was truly special. The foot was spectacular, the sauna was tranquil, and the rooms were from a movie. We can’t recommend Aurora Queen enough! Will return someday.

Hotel owners were very friendly, the hotel main building was amazing. Rooms are incredibly comfortable. The food, both breakfast and dinners were so much better comparing Rovaniemi center and Helsinki.

Breakfast was excellent. Great selection of food and quality was outstanding. The igloo was comfortable and luxurious. The resort area was also very beautiful to walk and explore. Our hosts Nina and Pasi were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful!

Some of the upper glass panels on the igloo didn’t not stay clear of snow sometimes which obstructed the view.

This was one of the most amazing places we’ve ever stayed. Certainly in the top 10 anywhere in the world. The owners seem to work so incredibly hard and at the same time make the experience feel very personal. This is pure opulence but at the same time feeling very relaxed. It’s like a home from home; like staying with friends who want to look after you. Their business model seems fairly unique but works incredibly well. We had the best, most relaxing time and were so incredibly grateful to Nina and Pasi for their hospitality and to Constantina who was the best waitress ever. We loved her. We are really grateful for the extra attention Nina gave to my wife who had a milestone birthday while we were there. The food was great, the room was perfect and whilst it took some adjustment to get used to compete silence, it was so refreshing. We would definitely come back !

All in all one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Perfect on so many levels, and in every little detail. Everything is almost new. The owner couple, extremely nice and friendly, go above and beyond to make your stay a complete pleasure and you feel almost like a private guest. Situated in Kakslautannen, ca. 10 km south of Saariselkä, it is beautifully nestled within a fairy tale forest with pristine snow everywhere. The igloos are far enough apart to create a very individual feeling for each house. The main house is beautiful and serves both as reception area, lounge and restaurant. Because they have only a limited number of houses it is never overcrowded and creates a very personal feeling, unlike many similar hotels in the area that are rather factory-like. Food is excellent, somewhat limited choices, especially when your stay is longer than the usual 2-3 days. Service personnel excels in everything, very warm and friendly and efficient. We also booked a tour where we happened to be the only guests which was wonderful. Nina gave us a big farewell hug - that alone says it all. Thank you for a wonderful week!

The property owners are lovely. They are attentive to your needs and make the experience feel homey. The food was really good and the property is beautiful. We were lucky to see the lights all three nights at the property. We even got great pictures from our rooom.

I think this place is slightly overpriced for what you get. Breakfast is included and the meals are affordable, but it felt like everything else was overpriced. The activities are more expensive, probably because you are in the middle of nowhere and don't have many other options. Saunas are part of the Finnish lifestyle and are a fraction of the price at most other resorts, but they charge 175 euros for 1.5 hours in a sauna. The rooms are wonderful, but they are close together, so the wonderful glass that makes it easy to see the sky, also means everyone can see in your room. You can of course close the curtains, but it just takes something away from the experience. While I don't have any regrets and we fulfilled our main purpose--seeing the northern lights--i probably would stay at a different property next time

It was an amazing experience. The igloo is very nice and comfortable, everything you need is there. Nina, Pasi and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food excellent. You can do a lot of activities.
