My photos say it all- view was amazing! The staff truly go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and memorable. Loving the heated plunge pool in my villa! I also had the best sunrise yoga with a great instructor.

Perhaps smaller bikes could be provided for petite-sized guests like me.

It’s a small boutique hotel with only 6 rooms, very quiet and private and service is absolutely amazing , especially Gusti in the restaurant he really looked after us, everything about this property is outstanding , location , staff, view , freshly cooked food for you

We checked in to a small room called Aksara, it was very small but then we moved to the suite which was amazing

We had an unforgettable stay at Uma Kalai. The room was stunning, with every detail thoughtfully designed. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout our visit. The views were breathtaking, the food was exceptional, and the entire experience felt peaceful and luxurious. Truly a perfect retreat

The view is better than the pictures. We stayed in the Vyoman suite, which is at the edge of property. Just rice fields and mountains as far as the eyes can see. Eka and Gusti managed our stay. The team and they were attentive and wonderful. A WhatsApp group was created. Each request was attended to within minutes. Special mention to the fact that the room is cleaned twice a day. This made our stay clutter free and comfortable. The mattress is perfect. Sufficient storage to put things away. Spacious bathroom with a view.

The property is absolutely stunning and the views are incredible. Probably the best value for money luxury resort I’ve ever stayed in. The attention to detail with design, everything down to the textiles in the rooms, to the ceramics had thought put into it. The landscaping was beautiful, the rooms were cosy and the in hotel service was impeccable. It was also a nice touch that the villas had private steam rooms and heated plunge pools. The food at the restaurant was also amazing and I didn’t even want to go to any of the restaurants I had booked anymore because the hotel food was so fresh and delicious, they also accommodated my dietary restrictions. The spa services are also so soothing and a really great price for what you get, but nothing beats how personalised the service is. With only 6 rooms, you can assure all your needs will be well taken care of. The butlers and hotel team are incredible people who make you feel like family and attend to every request to the highest of standards. They also remember little things about you and use those details to make your stay extra special. It’s always nice when people remember things about you and your likes. They helped me curate a wonderful personalised itinerary to some rather out of the way places and went the extra mile to assist with other things like changing my flights when I couldn’t pay directly from my location due to my requiring to have a local bank to pay Garuda Indonesia for flight amendments. They helped me with fabric care on textiles after I brought home hand dyed fabric from a natural dye workshop and helped me vacuum pack and store perishables I had purchased from tours. If you’re thinking of staying here just do it. You will not regret it. It’s truly a paradise sanctuary in Ubud and the perfect place to rest, relax and let your troubles melt away.

There is nothing to dislike about the property it’s truly an amazing space and experience.

Uma kalai exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The room was beautiful, the food was very tasty and the view was absolutely breathtaking. But what really made our stay so special was the incredible staff, they are so thoughtful and attentive- every detail is considered. A special shout out to Ami, Ade & Gusti who provided everything we could have wished for and more! Thank you so much to the whole team for an incredible experience, next time we are in ubud we would book again without hesitation.
