No vehicular access to the property. People have to walk for at least 150 m to reach the property.

We stayed in Summit Oakden with family in the month of April. Booked two adjacent premium rooms with view. The hotel is beautifully located, offering scenic views that would be absolutely breathtaking on a sunny day. The breakfast buffet was quite good—tasty food at a reasonable price. The rooms were spacious, well-decorated, clean, and also offered nice views, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. The bathrooms were on the smaller side. They have a beautiful terrace where one can enjoy their tea/coffee and snacks overlooking the magnificent Himalayas.

The service fell short of expectations, especially considering the premium room tariffs. Hot water wasn’t consistently available, and staff response to basic requests—like drinking water, clearing used plates (which were left outside overnight), and taking out trash—was delayed. Although the staff were polite and always greeted us with a smile, the overall impression was that they were either short-staffed or inadequately trained. Given that we visited during a non-peak season, we expected faster and more efficient service. Additionally, the à la carte food menu was quite expensive, which discourages dining within the hotel and limits the overall convenience for guests. However, outside food is allowed within hotel premises. Overall, it feels too expensive considering the service and overall experience. It can only be justified if you can see the Kanchenjunga from your room, which is only possible in the month of September-October. However, any hill top resort will be able to provide you with that scenic view.

Bathroom floors were slippery and elder family member slipped and fell down and injured.

Douche/toilet need new sealing, height door only 1.6 meter (painfully bumped my head twice), noisy generator and many power interruptions, laundry was returned unprocessed, and overall impression of a room that needs maintenance. Restaurant average service and food quality.

The staff were attentive and cheerful, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, rooms were cleaned every day, location is easy walking to the mall, flowering plants around hotel, and historic photos in public areas

Piped music from before 7am to 10:30pm, poor soundproofing from hallway, other rooms and floors, pidgeons cooing outside window from 5:30am, constant urine smell in bathroom, TV did not work and staff did not attend to it when I asked. The pre prepayment system failed as I was asked 4 times to update my card details. Each time it failed and I was told the booking w may be cancelled. This lasted from 3 days prior until arrival. Payment with one of the failed cards occurred at checkout.

The property, location and other things were good. Also, the foods were delicious.

The price is too much.
