Could improve evening entertainment

We stayed at Amada Collossos resort for 7 nights (family of 4 including 5 year old and 10 month old children) at the end of May. For the last few years we were staying in Crete UAI hotels, therefore, it was something to compare to. The vacation started on a high note - we got a free upgrade to swim-up room which was quite comfortable - it was quiet and private enough as it was covered from the main pool with various plants. Although the sun turns away right after lunch - from 2 pm. Cleaning of the room could be improved. Despite daily cleaning the floor was still feeling kind of sandy/ gritty. Not something that you want to let your baby crawl on. Overall hotel facilities did not seem to be very outdated but I wouldn’t say it was very convenient for moving around with baby stroller. To get to the beach you have to walk around the main pool, as the bridges or the slopes are mostly has stairs (even the amphitheathre where mini disco took place). To get to the lobby from the pool/ restaurant floor you have to use small elevators which are quite busy as they are located in the main block. The location of the hotel is also not very convenient - we did not manage to go by foot to the city as it is located at the very end, also the beach is not really suitable for walking with stroller and there’s not much to go to anyway. However, local car rent company Rodos cars has the office in the hotel and we have manage to rent a car for a few days for a very decent price - 105 eur for small SUV. We also enjoyed the gazebo for 110 eur per day - despite the “tired” sunbeds it was worth the money for seaside quiet, privacy and place where the baby could sleep calmly, as the gazebos are partly separated from the shared beach. Hotel catering is a separate topic to be outlined. The food in the main restaurant is good compared to previous AI experiences, but my wife have managed to get food poisoning on the last days breakfast or lunch. The poisoning issue raised some concerns on the facebook hotel group, luckily we were having different dishes so the rest of the family was ok. Also there wasn’t really anything to eat for the baby except from 2 types of porridges on breakfast. Some internal drink and beverage related policies were hard for me to comprehent too - you are provided with 2 bottles of water to your room daily, but there is nowhere to get an extra bottle (in our case it was relevant for baby feeding). As to reception the water is brought to the room anytime before 5 pm everyday and if you need more you can go to the hotel market. I also asked for a bottle of sparkling water for sick wife but the best that I got was “sorry we are not allowed to give bottles” and two cocktail glasses of soda. Drinks at the bars are mainly dubious quality local brands and pre-made cocktails. You have to specifically ask for import brands from under the bar counter. Yet I really liked the barman at the adults pool bar (unfortunately can’t remember his name) - very positive guy who loves his job - kudos to him! To end the review with some positivity I think that the hotel would suit perfectly for families with toddler-aged children. Our 5 year old loved the aquapark and it’s slides for both children and adults, the river with inflatable floats and most of all daily mini disco with face painting.

Brilliant 2 weeks at amada colossos the entertainment was brilliant, especially with kola. Bocca, volley ball and darts and much more.

Had an Excellent holiday at the Amada colossus, especially the entertainment team, they all are working so hard, had a great morning every morning with Kola playing darts. Excellent time. We will definitely come again.

This hotel was excellent, We stayed for two weeks, everything about this hotel is first class. The room was of a good size, the food in the buffet restaurant was excellent. The staff were really nice and so helpful, There appeared to be a full programme of daily activities and in the evenings there was acts either in the hotel or in the hotel grounds. The only downside was the beach which was full of shingle and quite steep. In all the hotel represented good value for money.

The staff are great and very helpful and understanding , and the service is really good and the darts at 11:30 is fun with Kola
