Sharazad Oasis Retreat

We absolutely loved our stay in Sharazad Oasis Retreat. The location is amazing, in a quiet and naturally beautiful spot, simultaneously by the sea and in the middle of biodiverse greenery, with many native trees and with red colobus monkeys passing by every day. The houses are very comfortable, cosy and pretty, designed using natural materials. There is no aircon but we did not feel too hot even during the hottest days, instead it was really pleasant to enjoy the natural air flow from the sea. The staff is really kind and helpful. The facilities are great. We particularly enjoyed the jungle pool. The food was very nice, including the breakfast. We would particularly recommend the Vietnamese restaurant, which is partly part of the hotel, absolutely delicious! The excursions we organised via the hotel were good, especially the spice farm, and we also enjoyed relaxing massages in the Naru Spa. All in all, a much recommended choice for a sustainable higher end stay! Not sure that there are many similarly amazing places to stay left in Zanzibar.

A beautiful resort with nice bungalows and an amazing vitnamese restaurant. Monkeys playing in front of the room was definitivly our highlight.

There is no AC in the rooms / bungalows, the pools were dirty, service was sometimes extremely inattentive. Food and drinks cost twice, sometimes three times as much as on the rest of the island.

Beautiful location, bedroom was spotless and the outdoor private shower was amazing. Breakfasts were also very delicious and the staff very kindly treated me to a birthday fruit platter and juice.

The people, staff, space, beautifull beach, fantastic massage, the 2 restaurants, Nice tastfull Cosy clean accomodation , comfortable bed .

Nice fruit platter with options for 2-3 main items. Fresh juice made the day for us. The staff was very warm and kept us comfortable all the time

Lovely place with an amazing confort everything you wish for is there for an island trip : 3 pools, fresh food with local taste, amazing services, long sandy beach.

SHARAZAD, as the name suggests, really is paradise on earth. I could not recommend it more. It is in a quiet area of Zanzibar and Jambiani, so you’ll be able to listen to the wind and waves, without too much disruption. There are 3 pools, I believe, and they were never crowded, at all, oftentimes it was just us in it, despite the hotel behind almost full. Some of the best sunrises we’ve ever seen. There is a population of Red Monkeys of Jozani Forest that live in the hotel grounds, and it was lovely to see them in the early hours. The hotel is built in harmony with the environment it is in, without overpowering it. It is what I imagine Zanzibar used to be a long time ago. Simply perfect.
