Chimneys Nuwara Eliya

We really enjoyed our stay at Chimneys. All of the staff are really friendly and helpful. Gavin goes out of his way to make your stay as memorable as possible and was happy to make any bookings for us. Would highly recommend.

Unfortunately they didn't have any decaf coffee, despite trying to obtain some for me, but I think this problem is all over Sri Lanka. Perhaps as well that I always travel with a small amount for such situations.

Friendly staff and manager. Beautiful grounds and the decors are very thoughtful. They have a restaurant on site but we did not have dinner there. Breakfast was made to order and amazing.

Je to veľmi krasný hotel s kolonialnym nádychom, salóniky zariadene dobovým nabytkom , vo vázach čerstvé kvety, na stenách miestne fotografie z minulosti. Je to tiché miesto blízko mesta. Peronál je milí a ústretoví.

Pretty property and lovely owner/ staff - can’t fault them.

The area didn’t feel safe - the walk out of the property to any main attractions isn’t great. There are also tones of stray dogs just outside the gate so walking at night wasn’t ideal. It wasn’t well located if you are intending to be by foot. We ended up using the tuk tuk driver from the hotel (who was fab! And took us down to town for dinner etc!) which worked well but we were gutted we couldn’t explore more by foot as we only had one night.

Our experience was overtaken by the poor & rude welcome we received from the manager.

The manager Gavin was awful, rude & condescending.

The hotel is nicely designed. Very stylish!

I would rate 10 of 10 if there was an European buffet breakfast. The breakfast was totally awful, coffee was too bad! It is not acceptable for a 5-star hotel.
