Dinuda Lagoon Hotel

I think the location is perfect, especially for those who are into kite surfing, cause the place for that is just on the other side of lagoon and you can use hotel kayak to cross it. The hotel area is not large, but looks pretty with small garden and kind of bar/lounge area on the tree. I had triple room, it is simple but has everything I needed - AC, bed with mosquito net (actually there were not a lot of mosquitos inside, although a number of them and flies outside - remember there is a lagoon, so mosquitos can be there), cattle (some tea and sugar), good towels. Bathroom is also simple, but with good water pressure. The hotel staff is helpful - I had some requests for food (crabs are awesome) and activities (it is possible to get lagoon safari, Wilpattu safari and some other activities as kayaking and kiting here)

There is small swimming pool, but water is not really clean, even I saw the person is cleaning it (probably not enough chemicals or filtering). I think this is something manageable

We reserved a standard triple room over the booking com for 12th May. Though Our check in time was 2 to 3pm we could be able to reach the place around 5 pm .However we informed the desk over the phone and confirmed our presence . We were welcomed by a person seems to be the manager and ask us to wait at the desk for few minutes. At the same time another visitor came and complained that they arrived the hotel at 3pm but the staff unable to handover the keys . Then the manager ask us to give him another half an hour , so we just hanged around . The pool is very small seems that had not be cleaned for days. Many dogs with dirty wounds were sleeping in the garden and lot of flies around the place. Event after 6pm manager couldn't arrange a room for us.we were really disappointed and left the place by informing to the manager. Following day manager called and apologized . Disappointed and not recommended this place.

Excellent and friendly management .

Staff need more experience . But overall good service .
