La Blanche Island Bodrum

We have just returned from 1 week at the beautiful La Blanche Island in Bodrum. First time in Turkey and cannot wait to return to this amazing hotel. The hotel is modern and incredible for families, lovely friendly staff, rooms cleaned every morning with fresh towels by the time we got back from breakfast and beautiful pool and bar areas. The most delicious selection of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner, lots of variety. The pool and beach areas and fab, clean and so many to choose from. The Starbucks and beach bars are an added bonus. The kids pool bar was closed when we were there, this could be seasonal. The entertainment was brilliant, especially the kids shows with characters and the evening entertainment shows at the beach front. Something for everyone. Lovely staff member at the kids club. The 2 bedroom family room was modern spacious and clean. Shout out to Andy for giving us an amazing deal for a luxury spa experience, he gave us a fab deal whilst we were at the pool. Thank you again Andy for being so friendly. Thanks also to the lovely photographer team who took our family photo shoot, lovely memories to cherish. Loved our time here cannot wait to return next year, to explore more of Bodrum as we didn’t manage to leave the hotel this time, as we were having to much time relaxing and fun and the pool with our family. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had an enjoyable time but as expected, this isn’t a 5 star hotel. We got a good deal and are pretty easy to please so we weren’t expecting loads but there were some basic things they could have done better. Cleanliness - couldn’t fault it. Rooms are decent and overall the hotel always looked clean. Food - buffet was actually good - salads were great - but the food was very similar and no themed nights that we’ve had at other Turkish hotels. The food options during the day were dismal. Snack bar at the top pool and then one on the beach. Both serving very limited options. So we ended up eating in the buffet at lunch whilst the kids had the burger and chips which seemed to be the main option. Coffee was great - the coffee shop did a nice latte and then in the day the Starbucks was open. The last Turkish hotel we went to had just awful machine coffee so this was a pleasant surprise. Pools - freezing in October as we expected. Spa - it was ok but not as luxurious as other spas I’ve been to in Turkey. Entertainment - kids weren’t interested in the kids club and we didn’t go to the shows so can’t comment. Cabanas - glad we didn’t pay more than we did for a pier cabana. Aside from getting drinks served to us, there wasn’t really anything else. They were a bit shabby inside and food options were limited to the snack bar menu which was rubbish. Service - overall it felt like we were a burden on the staff. I was overlooked all the time in the restaurant for getting a drink served to my table and the staff all just seemed a bit pissed off. I went to ask about a room upgrade as a treat for a few nights and almost got laughed at. It was a flat ‘no’. We won’t return but for what we paid it was a decent family holiday.

We had a lovely stay at La Blanche, but my 3-star rating is largely dictated by the temperature of the pools. They were freezing! I appreciate that during summer outside pools need not be heated, but the temperature of the pool during October in the low-to-mid 20 degrees was crazy - you could only stay in it for about ten minutes at a time due to its freezing effects. Our niece’s lips turned blue! When we asked about the pool temperature, we were told the indoor pool was the only heated one. We’d gone in that one… although it wasn’t freezing, it’s laughable that was considered ‘heated’. When we said it wasn’t heated, the staff said “it would be heated tomorrow”. Of course we checked the indoor pool heat over the next few days - still no heat. It is such a shame as the rest of our experience was great, as summarised below: Rooms - spacious and well presented, decent views and seemingly very good at cancelling outside noise (although maybe this was just because we visited out of the busy season) Food - as vegans, my wife and I were wary of what we would come across. We were very pleasantly surprised by the lunch and dinner buffets (don’t bother with breakfast, and the snack bars only offer chips for vegans but that’s fine!). There were plentiful options, mostly labelled accurately (although twice we got neck to the table ready to tuck into something before realising it had meat on it). The salad bar area was particularly impressive for those who do not eat meat. Entertainment - hit and miss. First two nights were great but after that they just had singers who were a little underwhelming so we didn’t go back. Drinks - very impressed with the drinks offering. A varied amount. Staff - seemed friendly enough to us, despite what some other reviewers say. So all in all, 3/5 is probably a little harsh but the pool temperature really was that bad. You go on holiday to enjoy the sun, relax, and then cool off in a pool. La Blanche Island takes that third qualifier to an unbearable level!

Family holiday with two children (7 and 10). My second time in Turkey. First the good bits: Absolutely beautiful location although isolated. Nice pools (although very cold) and the slides were a bonus. Rooms satisfactory, although in need of renovation (our floor was coming up and mattress on bed collapsed). Soft drinks in the room was a nice touch. Now the bad: We arrived 1st October, so late in season but by no means at the end. Most of the advertised facilities at the hotel were closed for a significant portion of our trip. The hotel put this down to safety because of rainy weather. Whilst I understand that for the slides and outdoor spaces, it made no sense for indoor spaces such as the Playstation room and kids club or the Starbucks and some of the snack bars. At times the only place to eat was the buffet restaurant ("Pina"). If there was any rain in the day all the entertainment was also cancelled - even if the weather improved. There was hardly any daytime activities anyway, but the evening shows were off too. Half way through our trip there was a medical aesthetics conference ("Face Camp 2025") which utilised the conference centre but also the shared lobby space between the lifts from the bedrooms and access to the Pina (main buffet restaurant), spa and exit to the swimming pools. This shared space was filled with billboards featuring images of aesthetic treatments, posters showing facial anatomy and videos of aesthetic treatments such as fillers and botox. You had to walk through all this to access the spa, restaurant or pool. It was completely inappropriate for young children to be exposed to this. At one point there were two (empty) mortuary trolleys parked outside the lifts. It later transpired the conference included live cadaveric demonstrations and training. I complained to our tour operator (Easyjet) and was directed to hotel guest relations. The response I received was unhelpful - basically that they couldn't do anything about it and we should have looked up their website before booking to see if there was any conferences like this on! The food at the main buffet restaurant seemed fine if rather cool and repetitive, but then a friend developed vomiting and shortly after my daughter got food poisoning too. This was short lived (12 hours) and very violent and we hadn't eaten anywhere else other than the hotel so I am sure this was food poisoning from the hotel food (I am a doctor). I have since spoken to other guests and there were a number of people unwell around the time of our trip. Staff were often rude, disinterested and often looked unhappy. They often did not speak much English which resulted in wrong orders and made it difficult to get information or discuss concerns when problems arose. I witnessed one of the baristas at the coffee lounge washing tea glasses out and throwing the water on the floor rather than taking them to the sink and washing them properly. On our last day the Playstation room opened up. This is located in one of the swim up rooms. While going out on to the deck area beside the pool we discovered the room next door looked as though squatters were living there. There were mattresses on the floor with an old water bottle full of urine lying by the door. I then realised that it was likely staff were sleeping there! The hotel roof leaked in the rain in many places too. We were hugely disappointed with our holiday which we had saved for and was sold to us by Easyjet as a 5 * resort with multiple amenities. We feel we were mis-sold. I would advise you avoid this hotel at all costs.

Asked for a small favour in the snack bar but got refused in a very rude way by the staff. No explantion, just NO! Would not expect this at this place...

The resort is absolutely beautiful — lush green territory, crystal-clear sea, and everything perfectly clean and well cared for. The coffee here is also amazing — rich and full of flavor! I fall in love with caramel mocha ❤️❤️❤️ A special thanks to Ipek and Nilgun at the reception. They set a wonderful tone for our vacation from the very first moment we arrived — professional, friendly, and truly welcoming. Their positive energy made our stay even better.💕 Highly recommend La Blanche Island to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday!

First of all I would like to thank again Andy,the person that made us a good deal for the spa and then Madi,the spa lady ,who has miracle hands,had 2 lovely massages in 2 weeks we were there,brilliant for my arm and back aches!! Now I would like to say that the location is fantastic, plenty of space at the beaches and pool,drinks were OK as well,whatever you wanted they would make for you,some of them to strong but each to their one 😆😅...The staff was not very well organised had to put cutlery for myself sometimes were not smiling to much and don't speak a lot of English which is a bit sad.The room is brilliant, can see the sunset from every angle of the hotel,fantastic!The food wasn't great but we didn't starve( the heating system that they have is not very good,by the time you get to the table almost all the time the food was warm ,even cold..pitty) In the 2 weeks time we were there just one barman was very sociable and even offered to make us some photos ,thank you Sezair( lobby bar).The place is very clean,can take how many towels you need for the pool.The entertainment during the day,almost 0 :)) ,very poor but again each to their on.Overall we would go back there!! 4 stars for sure,with some improvements would be 5 !!

We are on our last day and what a lovely holiday we have had its our 3rd time coming to this hotel and definitely wont be the last. The room was nice. The staff are lovely and the food is great lots of selections to eat. Big shout out to Andy from the spa he gives the best deals I had a great spa day for very cheap price thankyou for that..he is also very friendly and comes and has a chat with us everyday.
