Zen Boutique Retreat & Resort

Beautiful hotel and the staff were nice but not annoyingly nice which I prefer. We were the only guests for over a day. The location is not on the beach, but on the other side of the road. The food was good compared to regular food you get in Zanzibar (not the best). We loved the outdoor shower in our room!

We loved Zen Boutique so much! We felt extremely welcome and the staff were all wonderful. We were given a lot of information and offered support in organising activities. Our suitcase was lost and the staff took care of the communication with the airport, making sure our luggage arrived at destination. The Resort is beautiful and located on the edge of the forest. It was very special, especially during sunset. The food and cocktails were also very good and breakfast amazing. It all feels very new and is decorated with taste. The outside bathroom was also a very cool experience. Best place we stayed in Zanzibar, and there were quite a few. We’ll definitely be back!

The rooms were impeccably maintained and the housekeeping staff ensured they were cleaned twice daily, which made our stay even more pleasant. The food was exceptional, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes, and each meal was a culinary delight. The pool area was another highlight, offering a serene environment perfect for relaxation. Additionally, the hotel offers a variety of tours and activities, making it easy to explore the beauty of Zanzibar. What truly sets Zen Boutique Hotel apart is the outstanding service. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every wish, ensuring a personalized and unforgettable experience. Sarah and her husband in particular, who own the hotel, made us feel as if we were at home, gave us tips and took time for us. We felt truly pampered throughout our stay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a luxurious and serene getaway in Zanzibar!

This place is truly a zen paradise. We didn’t want to leave. The property has great facilities the pool is large and beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable and breakfast was amazing. The staff are very attentive to all your needs. This is also the only hotel we’ve been to in Zanzibar that the WiFi works. We throughly enjoyed ourselves. If you’re looking for a place to kick back and chill this is definitely the one.

Nothing but it should be noted that you cannot walk to the beach or anywhere for that matter. You’ll need a cab which they will happily arrange for you.

Staff were wonderful. The owners did everything they could to accommodate your every need - as volunteer nursing students in Africa, Sara made sure our stay was amazing and gave us a little slice of heaven after a whirlwind month!

I wish we had spent more time there! The property is set back from the main road a little (not an issue for us in the slightest as we knew what to expect) but if you are planning on going anywhere then its either a very cheap private taxi (that they organise) or a short walk away - no issues at all!
