Zen Boutique Retreat & Resort

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort, and we can honestly say it exceeded all our expectations. The owners and staff are incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing was ever too much to ask – their hospitality goes above and beyond, whether it was arranging a private dinner for two or making sure we were comfortable in every way. The resort itself is stunning and very well-maintained, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The pool area is perfect, with plenty of loungers available, so we never had to worry about finding a spot. The food was fantastic, and every meal felt like a special treat. One of our personal highlights was the amazing shower – such a simple thing, but it really made a difference to our experience. Overall, the attention to detail, the tranquility, and the genuine care from the staff made this stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

The wifi was always down and could not do anything online especially at night.

Being served dinner without juice as a prepaid package. I had paid for half board but was told to pay for juice I needed to take with my dinner all the time. The breakfast was flat (just egg and muffins every day) and had to request for beans and sausage considering the money we had paid. However the staff were all friendly despite the mentioned areas above.

Couldn’t recommend it more. I Loved the whole design of the property. Room size & layout, the beautiful outside bathroom (showering under the stars) The pool design, chill/ yoga areas, pool beds, workout area, all has such a great vibe. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The Restaurant served delicious food. Breakfast was delicious & plentiful. Sunset view from the top of the tower. Location was perfect for town & beach, also easy to get to Paje, Malum caves, the rock restaurant.

- Fresh ingredients with any food you order - enough space for everybody, even when all 12 rooms are occupied - wonderful pool - fish platter & BBQ evening are brilliant - the amount of decorating details is crazy

Wonderful staff and beautiful resort

The pool is amazing with a great temperature. The garden is beautiful, also we absolutely loved the food and the service. It’s a hidden gem!

You have to know that you need 15 minutes off walking to the beach or taking a tuktuk. But this is totally fine- it’s just good to know.

Everything was absolutely great! Staff is super friendly. Food was amazing. Rooms were big and absolutely clean. The vibe was just unbelievably good. The service was great. Everyone tried to make everything we needed possible. This resort is the perfect place to relax and enjoy. They offer trips with a company that are not overpriced and all super friendly. The owners Sarah and Ty were always present and checking in on us several times a day. We actually liked it so much that we left our second hotel at the beach after a few nights to spend the rest of our time in Jambiani at Zen. It was just too good. Don't hesitate to book this hotel!

Unfortunately the hotel is not directly at the beach. But you can walk to the beach and in just a few minutes you are at the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar. You can also take a taxi to beaches closed by for very little money.
