Kathalee Beach Resort

Room window facing the open ocean. I can experience the great ocean view from my bed and its feel really great.

We loved our stay at Kathalee so much so that we extended our 3 nights stay to 5 nights, from the moment we arrived we were very welcomed by the wonderful staff, our room was lovely, clean and had a great view of the sea. The beach is stunning and very quiet , easily walkable to the walking street. You can use the kayaks, life jackets and snorkelling gear for no extra charge! We thought the breakfast was delicious. A special thank you to Penny, Amare & Noose who were so kind to our children and made our stay very special!

Wonderful stay!l Great location on a very picturesque beach (Sunrise Beach) in our opinion the best beach on the island! Everything within walking distance however they offer a free shuttle to walking street! Comfortable beds, lots of choices for breakfast in the morning, hot showers should you need hot water, free kayaks and snorkel equipment. Very helpful and friendly hosts!

No negatives really. The only thing we can say is the bathroom doesn’t drain too well so when you shower the water can be standing in the floor but really not an issue.

The only thing I liked it was on the beach & close to other resorts that had food & drinks.

When we got to our room, the AC was barely blowing cold air. Told them the issue & they sent staff to check the unit. I recommend another room & I didn't care about ocean view being the main priority. They tried the room next door to us & it also has AC issues.They said they need an engineer to look at the AC unit. By this time, I was thinking of a refund if possible but no refund in the cancelation policy. So, after an hour or so, they finally found 2 other rooms available with working AC. We took the closest one to us. Finally, we got into a cool room as Thailand is very humid. We took a cool shower to clean off the sweat from the past hour or so feeling sticky. The towels were so bad it felt like I was scratching my body. Poor quality & old! The bed was horrible & messed with my back. I noticed during high season that this place had very few visitors or people staying there. I obviously found out the hard way why.
