The staff were lovely. The food was great. The property was forested and tucked away from everything else. Swimming in the natural pool in the morning was a highlight.

The staff is very friendly. Always ready to help.

The room wasn’t as clean as expected like on the pictures.

What a unique and beautiful place. You have to take some time to get there because it is so calm and natural after all the other places. I am so grateful to get a week of ayurvedic treatment here. The people here are exceptional. Predipa gave the very best massage treatments followed by a blissful steam bath with fresh herbs. The food was the very best in Sri Lanka made with dedication and refinement by Nuwan. Each time a discovery of vegetables, spices and flavours. The lady of the place Nishanthi is so friendly and and wonderful person . I will definitely come back. There is a real sense of renewal after this week.

The food, was a positive aspect of our stay – delicious and well-prepared. But beyond that, there were additional disappointments.

Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. While the rooms were acceptable and the staff were friendly, the property as a whole was significantly run down and did not resemble the photos shown online. The Ayurveda treatment space, a key feature of the accommodation, was in very poor condition – unclean, poorly maintained, and far from the relaxing environment one would expect. Similarly, our bathroom was not well-kept, with visible water stains and a lack of cleanliness that made it feel neglected. The lack of maintenance and the significant gap between expectations and reality left us quite dissatisfied with our stay. We hope management will take these points into consideration to improve the experience for future guests.

The people at Athreya were nothing short of amazing. Shirani, Telexe and the team could no5 have been more welcoming or helpful. Such an awesome jungle experience. Great atmosphere to get away from the standard hotel experience.

The pool and the pool area could do with a bit of work to make it more appealing. Prices for yoga and massages were a little expensive for us but worth doing.

I’m wondering how did they get such a high score Meals was really good, but overpriced

Everything is overpriced, management seems have no idea about costing and cleaning. How yoga lessons for 2 people, who only stays at empty hotel can cost €70 per hour, if the room rate is €40, included breakfast? And teacher barely can speak English. Average massages also extremely expensive. So we we’re going to get it at other place Also we had reservation for other dates and we were noticed almost last momethat hotel is fully occupied and can’t accommodate us. It was challenging to find an alternate for the last moment

This place has an incredibly welcoming, positive and kind staff; which put a huge smile on our face many times during our stay. Food was prepared based on vegan diet yet in good portion and tasted nice, so can’t fault that although we are not vegan. All pieces of food was introduced to us by their names and we enjoyed getting to know the vegan side of Sri Lankan food. Hotel’s location is quite remote and isolated, so it provides a full connection with nature (so many different animals around), which offers an Ashram experience to the fullest. Our room was by the lake and there were moments where I felt like in the jungle, far from humanity.

Room was relatively clean, but cleanliness of the bathroom was a bit below our standards. Towels used in the spa were also not very clean. Although location is an upside for its isolated nature, it was also a bit tricky for us to find a ride out from the hotel on our first day, as neither Pickme nor Uber responded to our request and we had to walk around 20 mins to the main road where we waited for another 30 mins to find a random TukTuk driver to take us to Habarana, who drove us around a few times after that day. I would recommend you to stick to your first driver for the other days as well, if you have not rented a TukTuk or a scooter already.
