Cabañas el Bosque

The breakfast was amazing. They really spoiled me with all the choices for food and service was really nice. The staff was amazing and accommodating, very kind and pleasant. I hate to even say "staff", this hotel is more like a warm family environment, which I like. But I was able to stay in a cabin that was very peaceful and quiet and have my alone time.They also graciously did my laundry the same day and I wholeheartedly appreciated that.

Maybe slightly less screaming from Spiderman during breakfast, but this is a family run hotel and children will be themselves. I don't have any of my own so I'm used to things being quiet. It was only for a few minutes.

The location of the lodge is a bit remote but as compensation you will find yourself surrounded by a small forest, nice flowers and beautiful birds. The cabañas are spacious and have an own small kitchen as well as a veranda where you can sit and enjoy nature. From here its easy to make tours to the nearby volcanos, e.g. Irazu.

Alejandro and his staff were wonderful as are the beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The breakfast is also great and you can sit and watch the Oro Pendulas.

Very nice property with wonderful staff. Good communication and nice breakfast. Watching the bird feeder by the restaurant while eating breakfast was a bonus. We were staying here hoping to hike Turrialba but the weather didn't cooperate. Can't hike without a reservation and same day reservations didn't seem to be a option. Weather reporting in the area is unreliable due to the mountains.

A very nice place in the jungle!

Very nice experience. The cabins were not difficult to find and remote enough to have privacy and some quiet. There were towels, indoor bathroom/shower, coffee facilities, and basic cooking supplies in the room which was nice. They even had a microwave and fridge. I was given the choice between a volcano or town view, and I chose the volcano. They had a small parking lot and good breakfast at whatever time you ask for - traditional Costa Rican breakfast. You can pay by card at the property. There were a few short 1km trails, a pool, and a playground available, which would be nice when it's warmer. The host was friendly and each cabin had WiFi, although some of it was a little unstable. I still had 4G data connection, which made it a very nice stay! About 40 min drive to Turrialba. I spoke Spanish with the host - unsure of her English ability.

Nothing in their control! I wish it was warmer/there was less fog so I could enjoy the view a bit more, and wish the shower water was warm but otherwise, it was great.

We enjoyed watching birds and squirrels.
