What can I do but agree with all the reviews already on here! Hospitality and food was amazing!

Only small thing was the traffic noise, but you are going to get that everywhere in town

Owners are very friendly people, always ready to give you tips on everything: transportation, trips, local food. Room was comfrotable and the beds were the best we have seen in Sumatra. Hot water was a big plus. You can order breakfast or dinner there, and it will be homemade prepared, which is for sure delicious, but we found it a bit too expensive for our budget. Scooter rental available for 150.000 a day.

A bit too pricey. There are cheaper places with similar level of comfort.

We stayed for two nights - big bedroom, two king size beds, one single bed, everything very clean. Self-made breakfast and dinner by Cecilia was amazing, traditional food, fresh fruits and whole grain bread - we loved it. Smiley and Cecilia spoke English very well, we learnt a lot about the culture and living. We especially enjoyed the two tours we did with Smiley - Volcano Sibayak at sunrise and Batak village and market. Smiley's Homestay in Berastagi was definitely one of our Sumatra highlights.

All perfect, I can’t say anything bad about this place and the family. Very nice to us, we were supposed to stay for 2 nights and stayed 5. We felt like part of the family and home. Very comfortable bed, warm shower, incredible breakfast, laundry service, tours, I needed a scooter and had it in 10 minutes. Smiley took us to the volcano for sunrise and then to the hot springs, very nice and a must do there. Cecilia is a wonderful woman, helped us in everything we needed, basically felt like a cousin to us. We love her♥️. It’s a perfect place for families and backpackers.

The owner is a sweet lovely lady who cooks the most amazing food for you! (Honestly, super above expectations - DO go and eat here, let her surprise you). She will help you book transport or trekking with her husband to see the volcano. The place is a walking distance to the center, local market. But it is in a quiet area which is nice. The bed I slept in was sooo comfy and I had my only warm shower in Sumatra here. Our room was spacious, had a window with a view, there is also a terrace to chill and enjoy the view. I really recommend this place.

Spotless clean, Cecilias cooking skills are out of this world, really nice trip offers. They can get anything for you (also transport options)
