"Ubud central but quite side street"

7.0

Location was very central and quiet but still near Ubud Palace.

No towels, very small, little privacy, especially on the small terrace, but is a home stay, so not unusual. Had not realized it has no AC, which is quite tough in this climate. But the booking description is correct mentioning only a ceiling fan.

For the price it's great, the small rooms are fine if you don't care about space and are comfy, quiet and clean. Location is great. The big rooms are also good, I've stayed in those before, but personally small is fine if you don't care about AC.

"Stayed here twice, would definitely recommend, perfect for the price!"

8.0

Great value, the small rooms are comfy and to be honest perfect size. I've also stayed in the big rooms, only necessary if you like a lot of space or need AC, personally the small rooms are fine for me without it. Very quiet as away from the busy roads, but super convenient location. Small kitchen too if you need it.

"Modern room, good wifi, no privacy"

6.0

Very modern and big room, big windows, very nice design, wifi worked well, also for a video call of 1 hour. Kitchen was spacious and well enough equipped to prepare a simple meal. Close to cafés and restaurants in the center and a laundry in the next street. They also put out a bottle of hot water in the morning to make tea or coffee that was on the small table on the terasse. If it wasn't so close to the family house and someone sitting in front of the window all day and evening long, it could be a really cool place. For me there was a lack of privacy for that specific room.

The room does not face the "garden", the little open space that most of the other rooms face, but rather the house of the family. Which meant, there was someone all day sitting to the right preparing something. It was a month of ceremonies, so not sure if this was because of that or if generally the women are sitting there and prepare something all day, every day. Since the distance was only 1-1.5 meters from the window doors of the room, for me it was too close to feel I can have privacy. 1) You are looking at a house in front of you, 1 m away, 2) there is always someone sitting. They could easily look into the room from where they were sitting, which meant, I always closed the curtains and never used the terasse. It felt a little oppressive. In the beginning they were out from 8am to 10pm/11pm, mainly quiet, but at night talking, or talking right in front of the room at 8am. So you are living the family life if you get this room, more than in any of the other family compounds where I stayed in Ubud, where guests are usually more separated from the family house. One day they were sitting right in front of my window/door giving each other massages. Booking was negotiating with them to give me percentage for a refund, since I booked a room with "garden view", which they never replied to.
