New Farmers Paradise

A good place, very friendly hosts.

We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the homestay and our host were super friendly and helpful!

Owner made us a delicious supper and was very hospitable. Quiet spot with bird songs in the morning. We were driving our own tuk-tuk, and the road was a bit challenging to reach the location. Otherwise, I think walking was about a 15-minute trek to town.

Privacy was low since our room had an open patio overlooking the entrance steps to the house. This meant people coming in and out could see in our room, so we, therefore, had to close the curtains on the door of the room at all times for privacy. Even sitting on the patio, we could see the hosts walking in and out of the house.

The location of the place is just outside of the touristy center of Ella, providing wonderful escape and shelter in the paradisiac green fields own and actively cultivated by the owner. I felt I was at the visit in aunt, that’s the way I was looked after, welcomed, offered teas and snacks. The lady cooks incredible rice and curry everyone who stays there must try! I absolutely recommend this place to everyone who want to wake up to the sunset amongst mountains and green fields, sing of birds and peacocks. The atmosphere in the house is so nice that it make me instantly became friends with other visitors who I consider incredible people. Owner has wonderful personality that gathers people around, apart from running his farm, he enjoys the company of tourist and his approach is authentic and adds character to his place. In addition, his extremely knowledgeable about agriculture and willing to share his stories when asked.

Owners were super nice. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. View was great. If it had been clean I’d have been very happy to stay here and rated it a 9. The drive was quite long and tricky. If you have rented a tuktuk you may not be comfortable driving up and down waterfall road. The owners are happy to help you however.

Our room was quite dirty, especially the bathroom.

Farmers Paradise was a really nice place. The family is very kind and helpful. There was breakfast every morning. The owner even accompanied us on our hike up Ella Rock at 5am. Without him, we probably wouldn't have found the path in the dark.

Although the homestay is a bit out of the way and without a scooter or tuktuk the path is a bit long and bumpy (about 15-20 meters on foot), the owner offers tuktuk rides or you can rent a scooter.

I would give the Farmers Paradise 10 stars if I could. We stayed here for 3 nights, and it’s been the best part of our trip. The hosts are the loveliest couple in the world. She would cook us the best dinners every night with vegetables from their own farm, and he would organise the tuktuks into Ella town and also came with us at 5am to Ella rock. Breakfasts made by her were also delicious, specially when you’re enjoying them in such a peaceful location. I loved waking up early and going to the balcony to enjoy the quietness and the sounds of the birds and the smell of wet grass. Thank you family for everything. The world would be a better place if there were more people like you.
