New Farmers Paradise

Incredible, varied breakfast made with fresh produce (from the farm the family own!), lovely helpful hosts and a private balcony and communal area with gorgeous views. They arranged good value taxis for us, gave us instructions for climbing Ella Rock and accommodated our need for a later checkout with no issues. One thing to note is that on Google maps, the location is just 'Farmers Paradise'. We'd definitely recommend this place.

Damianti’s cooking is exceptional - I was invited to have a look at her preparations and all was so fresh and colourful. She makes the best coconut sambol, which I believe is fried with mustard seeds. We had it for breakfast on the train with homemade warm rotis (prepared before sunrise!) and it was the best breakfast we had in Sri Lanka. Ari took us up Ella Rock for sunrise, it was such a beautiful experience. Make sure you take a flashlight or head torch for the hike, and pack a warm warm for the peak, it was freezing!

Just be aware that it’s absolutely basic and you get a bed with a mosquito net, that’s it. Also, if you have your own transport, it’s almost impossible to drive all the way to the property, we had to park ahead and get tuk-tuks in and out of town. The shower is tepid at most.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful area - would definitely recommend! The homemade breakfast after a sunrise hike to Ella rock was also great, the fruit is locally grown and tastes amazing. The hosts were always ready to arrange a tuk-tuk between the centre of Ella and the house which was very convenient.

The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming, location of the house is stunning since it is located in the middle of the vegetable and rice production keeping you away from the crowded touristic city of Ella. The view from the balcony is a view you will never forget.

Everything. The breakfast and the diners were fantastic. Friendliest family. Quiet, beautiful view on the countryside. Every room has a nice terrace and the place has lots of charm.

It is a bit further away from town on waterfall rd. The tuktuk charges 700lrk. But then you are closer to Ella rock and the waterfall. So for hiking it is well located.

Almost everything. Harry & Damiente really are farmers who genuinely love people and care about their guests. Meals: delicious breakfasts & dinners with many ingredients fresh from the farm (e.g. I loved their beautifully cooked beetroot). Location: looking over a beautiful valley of crops, rice paddies, jungle, birds, squirrels. Wonderful to be away from the tourist packed centre of Ella. Yet it's just a 5 min drive / enjoyable 20min walk from there. Room: very comfortable bed. More than one light in the room (rare in budget guesthouses in Sri Lanka). I had a room above the main house with a private balcony with table & chairs & even better views. A small frog likes to spend time high up on the bathroom wall but was very quiet. I loved this but if you have a phobia of frogs I suggest: get over your fear or book a different room.

Bathroom basin shelf looked like it hadn't been cleaned. (Someone else cleans the room for them I think. I forgot to mention this to them.) Otherwise place was clean.

The view is amazing, the hammock, the bed, it’s all just perfect! Host and hostess go above and beyond for you, the food is so good and straight from their backyard! It’s a 20 minute walk out from Ella town which is super nice, it’s so serene and calm here.

It’s quite a difficult 15 minute tuk tuk ride from Ella centre, costing 800 to 1000 each way.
