Excellent location, very clean, a good amount of tea and milk available. Very friendly caretaker in Peter.

Stairs are a bit steep, but we were helped with our bags both coming and going.

The TV was a bit small

Great thought had gone into everything from the entry instructions to the kettle area to parking. Attention to detail was immense. The bathroom is shared but was being checked very often and was immaculate.

No big deal but checkout at 10am is a bit early esp. when bathroom is shared.

Lovely room, very clean and really nice thoughtful extras in room. Shared bathroom which I hadn’t realised when I booked but it was not a problem. We did not see any staff/owners but instructions were very clear, I would thoroughly recommend The Townhouse.

There was nothing to dislike about the property.

The location was ideal with a bus stop out in front! Peter was there to greet us and was like a genie answering our questions!

The stairs are steep and after a long day of walking, the last trek to my bed was tough! A small table would be ideal!

Great location, friendly host

Low ceiling in ensuite but aware in the details.

Excellent location, less than 10 minute stroll, past a lovely little fairtrade shop, to Bootham Bar (and access inside the Walls) and a recommended Nepalese restaurant. There was sufficient on-street parking, with permit arranged by the host. Comfortable room and bed, with a handy fridge and coffee-making facilities. We appreciated the plastic plates, bowls, cutlery and glasses available from the Snug and could pop to Co-op round the corner for fresh croissants etc for breakfast or for a snack dinner. The host was attentive to maintain the shared bathroom and washed dishes left in the Snug (thank you!) but left our room undisturbed. Highly recommended.

The house was lovely, clean and comfortable. We had absolutely no problems during our entire stay. It is an amazing location as well with the city center just 10 mins away by walk. There are also a few restaurants 2 mins away from the house. Peter was so good and kept us informed about everything right from the start. Amazing stay, would highly recommend.
