Guesthouse Congo Tempisque

Our stay at Congo-Tempisque was awesome for a budget one-night stop. Complete with an outdoor kitchen, we were able to cook for ourselves which was a great bonus. The place was cash only which made it a bit challenging and we weren't sure how to go communicate as there was no front desk but we ended up getting whats-app. Good place for a nights rest :)

Amazing host and the house had a beautiful inner court as well as a perfectly clean kitchen. I recommand this place!

Easy to find, lovely common space, room AC, secure room, warm shower, reliable WiFi. This guest room had everything I needed for a first night arriving in Liberia as a solo traveler. The fridge was stocked with cold water. I felt comfortable here.

Not many food options are within walking distance. There was a grocery store and a few fried food places. This has nothing to do with the wonderful guest house itself.

what a great homely spot, close to Liberia and also the beaches. Was lovely to find a Tico owned guest house as a welcome alternative to an airport hotel or a tourist trap down by the beaches.

would have been great to have some hooks to hang clothing and towels in the room and maybe a bedside lamp as the ceiling light was really bright. Just some suggestions.

José and his family are incredibly kind and are a perfect example of the friendly nature of the Costa Rican people. He shared some homemade pinto with us and gave us lots of information that was helpful for our stay. The guest home is clean, comfortable, and safe feeling. It is conveniently located near the airport, grocery stores, banks, and cafes. Highly recommend this place for your first or last night in Costa Rica. José is also a big fan of Canada which was fun for us as Canadians! Make sure to bring cash as this location is cash only payment.

Liked it as it was close to the airport after we arrived at 6pm.

The only down side was shared bathroom.
