Close to airport, good place for first night in Costa Rica, Clean room, walk to to restaurants, in quiet neighborhood. Pleasant host.

The room, the service, the location, everything was amazing. We were only there for one night to be closer to the airport but it was perfect ! It really felt as if we were a guest at someone’s home. We loved it and Jose was amazing. Only a 20 minutes drive to Hermosa beach as well which was a nice surprise !

We had a nice stay at Congo Tempisque. It's a beautiful small hotel with lots of green and plants around. The owner is very kind, helped us to get around to the nicest beaches and offered us fruit, juice and coffee. The room is comfortable, the bed was maybe the best so far we had on our journey in Costa Rica.

Jose who owns the guesthouse greeted me with a coffee and a quick tour around. A fridge full of cooled water and freshly squeezed lime juice from the tree on the property. A cool breezy hangout zone and a well equipped outside kitchen. Beautiful plants everywhere. I had arrived an hour before check in time, but that was not a problem, infact when I mused about what to do with my last evening in CR Jose offered to give me a ride to Playa Hermosa (15min drive away) which allowed me to catch a beautiful sunset, enjoy a quick snorkel and eat some delicious cerviche before he was back to pick me up :) I had an early morning flight, Jose was up at 5am with a coffee ready and was my taxi ride to the airport (10mins drive) for just $15. The room and bathroom were both very clean. I had forgotten that the room would not have AC, it was initially quite stuffy but there were two fans so I got a good night's sleep. This was great value for money and I was very grateful for the kindness of Jose and the easy communication via email with his daughter Maria. The location is perfect for the airport or if you need a base for exploring the area. I will certainly be returning.

This is not a complaint because I knew there was no AC, but the room was uncomfortably warm to start with. The fans worked well though and I noticed Jose unpacking some new AC units so this may be changing. The sheets were synthetic, perhaps a natural fiber would have been cooler.
