This stay was really great! Run by a lovely family that helped us with everything we needed. Its not located in the city center but you can go on a little adventure and walk through the train rails and arrive the center of Ella in 15 minutes. Same if you want to do a hike to the mountains, just walk the opposite direction. They also offered us what so far was the best breakfast of the whole trip for us!! Also need to mention that they own a puppy who i fell in love with!

I have to mention that there were some ants during the night, but we solved the problem not leaving things on the floor. Just get a little creative and it’s completely fine!

A very welcoming experience and unbelievably great service! Our total recommendation! :) When we arrived the family took so great care of us and made an amazing breakfast every morning for us. We had an lovely view of the mountains and greenery and the room was very comfortable and home-like. If there were any issues, they were very fast at responding immediately. The area is great because it's away from the bustle and pollution of Ella town, but in good walking distance.

Nothing really. The internet in all of Ella is quite overloaded, but that not Ella Festoon's fault.

This was an amazing stay made special by the exceptional care and kindness of the family who welcomed me to their home. They went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable, recommended local sights, provided assistance with bookings and showed me the best of Ella. And the delicious home cooked breakfast was one of the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. Thank you!

There are many home stays in Ella but what separates this one apart from the others is the amazing family that runs it. Lalith and his family are some of the most kind hearted and welcoming people we have come across in all of Sri Lanka. They genuinely want their guests to have a comfortable stay. We were sick and got delayed in Kandy and had to move our reservation and when we arrived they have chicken noodle soup waiting for us! They also made us dinner other times at no cost. One day there was a bad storm and lalith and his son came to pick us up because they didn’t want us riding in a tuk tuk in the rain. That’s the type of people they are. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable.

The only negative for us was the road noise. While the property is not located in town it is on a road that gets a lot of traffic. The tuk tuk are especially noisy when driving by and can be disruptive during sleep.

I couldn't reccomend this place more. Gorgeous, warm hosts. The room was perfect, very comfortable and we were offered fresh towels halfway through our four night stay. And the view! The photos really did not do it - or the whole room for that matter - justice. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

We loved the view from our room's balcony! What an amazing room to wake up in. Bathroomd were good! - spacious and clean. Thr family was very friendly and helpful. The home made Breakfast was a special treat. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The family is super sweet and helpful. They picked us up from the city center without extra costs and when we left they arranged a taxi for us at a very reasonable price. The owner also arranged a scooter for us : highly recommended because it’s the best way to explore the beautiful surroundings of Ella. The location was perfect for us. Far enough from the city center, but with a shortcut (shown by the owner) just 10 minutes walking. So don’t be fooled by googlemaps: you can walk over the train tracks to the city. Sounds weird to us westerners, but it’s just an extra road to Sri Lankans. Not dangerous at all because trains are slow: There’s even small bars along the tracks! The room is basic, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely amazing, both in quality and quantity. A broad spread of western and Sri Lankan food and more then enough to take for lunch as well. We had a very nice time!

The room was a little bit smelly, but we think that was just a temporary problem with the plumbing since everything was cleaned well and we haven’t read any other complaints about it.
