The Zion House - Affordable Bedrooms

The bed was comfortable. We were in the Tesla bedroom with 2 beds and a private bathroom. The ceiling fan in our bedroom was quiet and gave a nice breeze. The location was good. Hurricane is a nice town with a variety of restaurants. Bill is a knowledgeable, friendly host.

It was very dark. I'm guessing very low wattage bulbs are used to save electricity. There is a musty aroma throughout the home. It is very cluttered with too much furniture in the rooms I saw. There are no locks on any bedroom door; only doorknob locks from the inside. Video surveillance is in all common areas. There are rules (Bill's home Bill's rules) and $25 fines* for breaking some of them: shoes off at the door, no using scented products*, don't mess up the 2nd bed in the Tesla room, if you are a couple*. The beds are high and up against the wall, making it very difficult for the wall side partner to get in & out of bed while the other is sleeping. The bathtub was creaky. Many half-used bottles of bath/shower products available - ALL scented! No shampoo available in the Tesla bathroom. Bill went into our room to add a shower curtain just after we returned from dinner, when I had been expecting to be able to use the bathroom.

The room was so comfortable . The bed was big and high off the floor like an expensive one.

Excellent location on a quiet residential street, good value for the money. The host gave us excellent suggestions for visiting Zion and was kind and helpful. He also suggested a great restaurant in town for dinner.

Having a room in someone’s house is not as convenient as having one’s own space. The house is quite full of things, which felt a bit strange at first.
