Green Tea View

My favourite homestay travelling India! The hospitality from Thomas and his family is exceptional - they were incredibly helpful with recommendations and arranging travel. I appreciated the regular check-ins to see if I wanted a cup of tea during my stay! I stayed in the Mountain View Room which had stunning views of the mountains and tea plantation below. I thoroughly enjoyed reading my book and meditating on the balcony. It is such a peaceful place. I loved the dinners in the evening cooking by Thomas' wife which were delicious, and an opportunity to sit and chat with other travellers. It had a lovely communal feel as a solo traveller. Wifi was strong as I was working remotely. Overall a great value stay.

Nothing! As they are extending the homestay, double-check in advance when any work will be happening if you need to work remotely/take calls. If you're out exploring, it won't be an issue. It was fine during my stay and they were transparent about this happening.

Very friendly host family. Room with amazing views.

We enjoyed sitting on the deck looking at the gorgeous scenery. The hosts were exceptional. They provided information on activities and sightseeing; they helped book our bus ticket; they provided a wonderful breakfast (only 100 rupees) and offered us free or coffee throughout the day. They arranged for tuk tuks when needed. Located about a 15 minute walk to the center of Anachal on a quiet road. They offered for us to try on traditional Indian clothing which was a cool experience.

Great Homestay, the room was very clean and comfortable with a great view on nature and mountains. But our highlight was how friendly Thomas and his family was, helping us in any way they could. We had very nice discussions and meals during our stay, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone.

The family are incredibly welcoming and went to great effort to help plan each day’s activities and even our onward travel. Ron brought us tea every afternoon and would always check if he can help. Dinner and trying on sari’s with Lizzie was a wonderful evening.

Nothing- like most nice accom in the area, it’s a bit of a distance to some tourist locations, so consider a budget for taxis. This is not a complaint at all.
