Meos Ambower Homestay Raja Ampat

It’s all about the staff. Barto and the team made this trip special. So much love and excitement for how they take care of their guests elevates the homestay to next levels.

The location is amazing! So many fish and baby reefsharks right in front of the houses. Also the tours from Nick and Barto are really nice.

Very nice location and perfect to dive around Melissa's Garden. Unfortunatley the whole organisation is a big mess which partly ruined our stay. Good food for lunch and dinner.

Don't be surprised if you hear at 8pm that you will have to leave the next day because of a double booking. Why the person has to leave which is already there nobody knows. Or they just don't pick you up on your arrival day, if again there is a double booking. We chose this homestay because all the reviews said how great Nick is but sadly we cannot share this experiance at all. If you also only have a limited time in Raja, don't lose your time there as you never know if you can check-in or out as planned, which means a lot of stress and hassle in the end.

The prettiest of bungalows overlooking your own reef, snorkeling here is like an aquarium! Reef sharks swim below your bungalow all day. Nic the host will really look after you and sort any trips you fancy doing.

Everything about this homestay is wonderful: the food, the people, the beautiful cabins in the water, right next to the private reef full of fish.

Staying here was the highlight of a wonderful holiday in Raja Ampat. It is an idyllic, peaceful paradise. Nick is a wonderful host who organised for us to do everything we wanted (and at a very fair price). Food was excellent and plentiful. Lots of tasty vegetable dishes as well as fish. Our only wish was that we could have longer here, just exploring the house reef and photographing all the birds and other wildlife in the garden and forests. Really can’t recommend here highly enough.

I loved everything. It is a simple bucket shower - which might put some people off. But here, it was in a separate (spacious) room from the toilet and was always clean. For me it was part of the charm of the place. Everything simple but comfortable.

Best place in Raja Ampat

The location on the Fam Islands was excellent, placing us a short boat ride to both Manta Point and (in the other direction) Piyanemo, Star Lagoon, etc. Nick’s cost for excursions was reasonable, and we saw tons of manta! The dining hut over the water gave a lovely view, and the fresh fish and vegetables were delicious. Our hut had a lovely view, direct access to snorkeling, and comfortable sun beds to relax on. Overall, excellent value.

We had to ask more than once to receive towels, and the bathroom (only one for all huts) was not serviced (we had to ask to have the trash can dumped, and the toilet paper refilled). It would also be nice to have more effective communication regarding departure times for excursions, as this changed regularly. Finally, our first day we received a cooked breakfast, but after that there was only doughnuts or similar, which was disappointing on days that we were headed for excursions.
