Hotel el Escondite

I could make food and coffee. The bed was fine and the location was 20 minutes from the beach, also very close to the main roads. Worth the money.

The bathroom was cramped and parking was limited. Noisy dogs in the area.

This place is amazing! If you are a budget traveler, having your own room for this price is just incredible! The rooms are simple, clean, the AC and fan work excellent, you have a fully equipped kitchen and you can even prepare Italian coffee ( they have the Italian moka), enjoy it at your own table, it is quiet (away from the main road, just some dogs nearby barking, but you are in the neighbourhood). I just enjoy my stay here! You can wash your clothes as well here! Thank you! The lady that welcomed me is just wonderful, like a mother! ❤️

I really like this place! The neighbourhood is ok, safe ( sometimes the dogs bark at you).

The location was quiet except for sometimes dogs barking. It was easy to rent a motorcycle from the property. The Wi-Fi was great, and staff was helpful.

When we got there, there was mold on the bathroom wall and down the side of the toilet. Also the pillows were moldy. This was corrected quickly.

They did not have any rooms even though I had a reservation, disappointing but apparently common in the DR when using booking.com

Nothing whatsoever! Absolutely a nightmare. We booked this place since it was close to Nicole Residence where our other family members booked. Unfortunately, Nicole Residence was fully booked, hence our decision (unfortunately) to book El Escondite.

Absolutely a nightmare. Foul smelling as we entered, we could not keep our clothes in the drawers as it had a smell of cockroach and was rancid as ever. They demanded we pay the entire 5 days costs at the start and we just could NOT last for more than one night. We roughed it out for that first night, they just had a very thin bedsheet which was not sufficient for their winter in late December....that led to a sleepless night. Their neighbour's dogs barking throughout the night and roosters crowing in the early hours made it a miserable one night as we were sleep deprived. The last straw was that there was no hot water (needed in late December) whatsoever to shower in the morning. We then decided to leave and despite requesting for a refund, we were refused. If there is a way to recover the 4 night's unused portion of our stay, we would appreciate it. Please see my profile and bookings of my travel with Booking.com. I have never complained of quality and services, but this place is a disgrace and I recommend should not be advertised for occupancy at booking.com I look forward to your positive action and I continue to be a loyal customer.
