Toller Aufenthalt bei sehr freundlichen Gastgeber*innen, wunderbare Lage. Völlige Ruhe in einem schönen Holz-Bungalow mit AC. Auch mit zwei Kindern genug Platz zum Schlafen durch eine Schlafcouch. Super leckeres südindisches Frühstück direkt am Fluß. Auf Wunsch wurde eine schöne Bootstour durch die Backwaters mit tollem Guide organisiert.

Toplocatie, zeer vriendelijke gastfamilie, verschillende dingen te doen in de buurt en zeer vlot geregeld via de homestay. Wij deden de avond canoetour en deze is enorm aan te raden! Ook kan je op wandelafstand van de homestay kijken hoe touw wordt gemaakt van kokosvezels. De huisjes waren zeer proper, goede AC en muggenvrij :-)! Eten was ook erg lekker met keuze van niet spicy tot wel spicy.

This homestay is run better than some boutique hotels we've stayed in. The hosts provide a very professional level of service, over and above what we expected. Sunaina and her family are such amazing hosts. As we were lucky to visit when the temple festival was on, Sunaina invited all the guests for lunch in her home as she couldn't offer evening meals as basically the whole island visit the festival. She messaged several times whilst we were at the festival to check we felt safe and everything was ok. She organised our sunrise morning canoe trip (1800 INR for 3 hours) which I'd recommend, beautiful and tranquil journey to watch sunrise on the lake, advised where we could hire bicycles from a local home, arranged a taxi for us to get to our next destination. Nothing was too much trouble. The wooden chalet was gorgeous with everything clearly labelled so you know how to operate the hot water etc, room has a small fridge and bookcase with spare books for you. Each room has its own seating area by the lake with table/chairs under a fan and light and hammock. Will definitely recommend to friends and would love to return. Also recommend the food- breakfast and evening meals. They send you the menu in advance for themselves and another local place that can deliver for you. We'd visited Alleppey prior to Monroe Island. Alleppey maybe has more life to view from the water, but we loved Monroe island, had a great tranquil feel to it, nature on the water and narrow roads you could cycle around and see friendly people and feel safe. Can see why it gets such great reviews, worth the detour to visit from Alleppey.

Nothing, just wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return, hopefully when it's not as hot!

Thank you for providing vegan food, it's was really good. We were lucky to stay during a festival time, so we discovered part of the local life. The sunrise boat tour was beautiful, although we would have loved to talk more with the person driving the boat.

Only thing that could be better would be to have cotton bedsheets instead of polyester.

A beautiful and welcoming home stay, experiencing a more authentic side to Kerala. The waterside location is lovely, a peaceful spot to watch the boats and wildlife pass. Delicious home cooked food. Seamless arrangement of a sunrise canoe in the back waters, which is a must if you visit Munroe Island.

Breakfast was lovely, the wooden cabin that we stayed in was lovely, spacious & clean. In a nice garden area. We went on a sunrise canal backwater trip which was fabulous, we booked it through the owners & we would definitely recommend that. We did a little walk along the river which was in a nice setting.

We were worried about eating under the pergola (in front of our cabin) because there were a lot of mosquitos about. We put the fan on & that seemed to keep them away. We didn't like the shower it didn't seem to get hot & we didn't like the towels that we were given to dry off after the shower, they were inadequate for us & felt like a cheap option to save on laundry. The homestay is situated opposite temple's & mosques on the other side of the river bank but the noise from them was constant all the time we were there calling to prayer, fireworks & parties & festivities. So we were bothered by the noise - it didn't feel like it was a peaceful part of our holiday like we thought it would be.

Memorable stay at this charming homestay by the backwaters. The owner Sunaina makes everything to make you feel comfortable, the bungalows are charming and the garden in front of the backwaters is a must. Let’s add delicious food and very good recommendations (the tour in the backwaters to see the sunrise is just amazing) and you will have a full picture of how great our stay was. We will for sure stay longer next time.
