GreenChromide Homestays

This is a truly tranquil and stunning property, beautifully located by a river with twinkling lights, yummy home cooked food and a spotless, modern room (we had the chalet and loved it). Sunaina and her family were so kind, welcoming and helpful, from arranging auto rickshaws to giving advice on trains, telling us where to rent bicycles and booking us onto a lovely canoe tour. She was also very communicative via Whatsapp. It was my favourite place I stayed out of 5 different accommodations in Kerala.

Green Chromide is just amazing!! The location on the river side, the wooden chalet, the food are excellent. Sunaina and her family are so genuine, authentic and welcoming. They have made my stay very memorable. Munroe Island and Green Chromide have touched me deeply. Sunaina arranges everything you want to do in a blink and also understands visitors coming from a different culture. Everybody knows each other, so you will be taken care of with a big smile. Don’t hesitate, just go!

We had a brilliant stay here thanks to Sunaina and her wonderful friendly family. This homestay is perfectly located right next to the river at a point where there is a water taxi to the other side which is interesting to watch. Get up early to see the fisherman in their coracle boats. Hire bikes from the family from round the corner for just 50 rupees an hour. Cycling round the island was a highlight as was the sunset boat tour as organized by Sunaina. We also had dinner here as the island does not have many restaurants. Although we did a houseboat stay in Alleppy, we came here to add to that type of experience, so this was a quieter less touristy place. Great stay thank you.

I loved everything about this place. It is peaceful and beautiful, accurate and clean. The owner and the family are so friendly and helpful and willing to help out with everything. The home cooked meals were great and so much fun to eat by the river.

The homestay is in a jungle paradise, away from the chaos of the world. Munroe Island is beautiful and untouched by the blights of mass tourism - and the homestay is in an idyllic spot, right next to a river. Sunaina and her family are super accommodating and made amazing home cooked food every day, and just generally helped us with anything we could need the whole time. One of the most peaceful and best places we've ever stayed and would love to come back some time!

Beautiful location on the riverbank, very nicely lit at night, very comfortable little cabin, Sunaina and her family were incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was delicious and well-adapted to different spice appetites

This Homestay is truly unique and highly recommended. The family and staff are helpful and kind. Sunaina took the time to explain things and chat with us, which gave us a personal experience. The food both for breakfast and dinner was very nice. We especially enjoyed the amazing views during meals, the hammocks to rest in and the general vibe of the place. Munroe Island is a good place to rest, but also to explore without being overwhelmed. There is a boat taxi to the other side right next to the Homestay.

Excellent location by the river!But the most important is the family who owns the place: they are so kind and gentle and willing to help you. When I arrived I was sick and they took care of me like a real family! I really recommend this place for everything

Location was great (by the river) and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. They gave us useful tips for sightseeing and arranged for us a boat tour. Really good breakfast.

Communication before arrival was made via Whatsapp instead of Booking.com.

we had the best experience and would really recommend staying at green chromide homestay. On top of the room, which was spacious, very comfortable and very clean, sunaina and her family looked after us extremely well, providing delicious meals in a beautiful river-side setting, and helping us with our onward travels :) if we come back to kerala we will definitely stay here again and will recommend to family and friends!
