Room size

Situated in a perfect location by the side of the river, this delightful homestay is the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Munroe Island and other nearby spots. The riverside area is beautiful, peaceful and scenic and the room we stayed in, which was a part of the main house, was very spacious and clean. Being able to paddle out into the river in the kayak at sunset was particularly memorable experience. The hospitality, generosity and warmth shown by Sunaina, Vipin and their family is second to none and was a highlight of our trip to India. They are very nice people and it shines through. They have made hospitality a focus and we could not have asked for for a better experience, as they helped us with incoming and outgoing transport, excursions and bicycle hire. An unexpected bonus was being taken by them to a village festival in one of the local Hindu temples where we experienced drama, dancing and an incredible drumming troupe. The home cookery is very tasty and we were eager to try everything on the menu. We were even treated to a cookery demonstration which was fantastic fun for us and the other guests. Come to Monroe Island for exploration and the sunrise boat trip (highly recommended), stay at GreenChromide for their hospitality.

Monroe island is a paradise for people looking for a quiet and intimate place and local village experience. Green Chromide is a jewel. Beautiful spot along the water, gorgeous and charming wood bungalow, in perfect condition, spotlessly clean and fully equipped (multiple power sources,… ). The staff is extremely nice, helpful and professional. This place has been by far our best experience during our 2 weeks in Kerala. We will definetely stay here again if we ever come back to Kerala.

The host family are incredible. Welcoming, caring, kind souls. The river right in front is beautiful, also for swimming. The rooms and Bungalows are spotlessly clean and cared for. The homemade food is superb, I enjoyed it very much. I was sad to leave and will def go back. Thank you for everything :)

Beautiful location. The accommodation was very clean and lovely. Everything was absolutely perfect and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They have very good breakfast and lunch/dinner options. Don't choose another place to stay, that would be a mistake !
