Tianyi Homestay

We had a great stay. Beautiful location. Not "fancy" accommodations but perfectly nice and clean. Hosts were incredibly welcoming and served delicious tea, but if you're looking for a tea "ceremony," you won't find that here. The weather was cloudy on the night we were there, so we didn't catch a sunset, but it seemed like the sunset would have been magnificent most other nights. The property has nearby places to watch both sunrise and sunset, and there are also beautiful hiking trails right near by. The night we were there, the local town was hosting a festival for the start of cherry blossom season. The hosts took all us guests to the ceremony in their personal cars, and this was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The hosts also took us to a local restaurant for dinner where we enjoyed local foods. The view from the homestay property was incredible. The hosts do not speak much English, so if this is the only language you speak, you will rely on Google Translate to communicate with the hosts (or other homestay guests who are willing to translate). The homestay is about a 45 minute drive from the town of Alishan where you can catch the trains to the sunrise viewing spot and the other parts of the park. They have a tea picking experience for most of the year, but we were there during Winter, so this was not available. Overall we would highly recommend staying here!

老闆娘很熱情、提供日出祕境及阿里山遊玩攻略，讓我們節省很多時間，早餐很好吃都是當地的時蔬，茶很好喝，也是老闆自己烘焙的，狗狗很好嚕、貓咪很可愛，附近茶園很美，往下走離便利商店不遠，房間還ok，盥洗用具要自備，僅有洗髮乳、沐浴乳、毛巾，整體還不錯.

床、被單稍微舊了些，建議可以更新+除濕會更舒適.

This was the first time we have used a homestay. It was very interesting seeing how local people live.

為了趕行程，闆娘有讓我們外帶水煮蛋，咖啡和土司等。晚上可以和老闆品茶、聊天，更認識茶葉。一進房間可聞到檜木味。

入口很不顯眼易錯過，家庭式經營，空間較雜亂，建議可以找專人再整理，房內洗手間較簡陋但還算乾淨。

The host was very warm and friendly. After check in, she drove us to the restaurant as we had just arrived from a long journey from TaipeI then took us to a special place to view the cherry blossoms. We really enjoyed chatting with her and other guests while having their homemade tea. The host and her family made everyone feel welcome. The place is simple but the experience was made special because of the lovely people, their cute pets and plants. 🙂 The location was good as it was close to the observation platform where you can see the tea farm and mountain view and the walking trails are nearby too. The restaurants and bus stop are only a 5 minute drive down.

If walking, it is a steep 20 minute climb from the town center to the accommodation.
