Silent oasis

Silent Oasis was our favorite homestay in Sri Lanka! We loved the quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of central Ella, as well as the view of the jungle and tea fields. The family was so sweet and made the best breakfast we had on our travels. Also, the curry they made us for dinner was delicious! The bed was comfy and big, giving the room a hotel feel. They helped us arrange a Tuktuk and gave us great recommendations. It was also a perfect starting point for hiking Ella Rock. We also took a cooking class nearby at Honey Café, which we highly recommend. We would love to come back at some point!

Kaum Kommunikation mit Gastgeber, bei Regen alles klamm und feucht

Endroit très au calme, un tout petit peu à l’écart de l’animation excessive d’Ella. Famille très discrète et gentille et accueillante. Beau petit déjeuner. La chambre familiale avec ses deux grands lits et pleine de baies vitrées sur la nature est agréable.

Pas de vue sur les montagnes autour d’Ellla mais simplement sur la nature ce qui reste agréable. Salle de bain et douche très basique.

L’emplacement face a la forêt et les champs de thés est magnifique La chambre est dans le calme absolu et la literie de bonne qualité Les petits déjeuner bons et copieux Et l’eau est très chaude

Je crois qu’il n’y a pas de wifi mais nous n’en avions pas besoin L’emplacement est un peu loin mais au calme absolu

Very hospitable owner! Beautiful and peaceful place

The staff was nice. The beds were comfortable.

The access road towards this accomodation was very narrow. We had made sure with the host and he assured us we would be able to. However, as we tried accessing the location, our bus driver had a lot of trouble. It was quite dangerous. Moreover, the communication with the staff was quite difficult as we did not speak the same language. The payment was only possible by cash and for the experience we had, it felt quite expensive

Schöne Unterkunft etwas oberhalb von Ella mitten in der Natur, schöner Ausblick vom Balkon. Frühstück auf dem Balkon war immer sehr lecker (außer wenn die Affen gekommen sind). Der Gastgeber sind sehr bemüht, er hat uns ohne Weiteres ein Roller organisiert, was ich wegen der etwas abgeschiedenen Lage jedem empfehlen würde!

Bad ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, etwas Schimmel an den Wänden, das warme Wasser hat nicht immer funktioniert bzw. lange gebraucht bis welches kam
