We stayed for one night and felt so welcomed by Ruwan. We had some great conversations and Ruwan provided us with great food and a tour around the country side. Best place if you want a quiet stay on the country side!

Ruwan and family offer something unique. The view of the sunrise over the ridge starts your day , followed by freshly prepared breakfast , walks around the family farm, swimming in the river , learning about growing organic vegetables and fruit , waving and smiling with the neighbours then relaxing back in your cool (air-conditioned) room , waiting for dinner to be served. This place is a hidden gem. Ideally located to visit Dambulla Caves / Sigirya / Lions Rock if you want to get back on the tourist trail , but don’t rush to leave this idyllic paradise as there is much to learn from Ruwan and his family ! Flavours of Farm to Plate / Organic Food / Permaculture and wisdom past down from the generations before. The mostly vegan/vegetarian dinner is exceptional and generous. You will not be hungry ! Even a surprise birthday cake for my partner ! Ruwan shares freely and with an openess rarely seen. A generous man , with a big heart. You won’t want to leave.❤️

Ruan was the most amazing host for this beautiful homestay. We exchanged a lot of stories and had such a great time with him and his family. They cooked amazing food for us, homegrown from their own farm and Ruan sat with us through each meal and we had great conversations with him. Loved out time there and would go back to Sri Lanka only to meet our friend again😊

Amazing view in the valley! This is the perfect place if you want to escape the busy city's. Ruan is the best host you can imagine. He is always there for you if you need something and he can help you with suggesting things to do in the surrounding. He is also interested in his customers and likes to talk about Life, culture and Philosophie. He shows you his land explains plants and vegetables. Thank you Ruan for making our stay special. Near to the place is also a natural river where you can safely swim in the jungle. Amazing! Last but not least Ruan served great Dinner with fresh vegetables from the surrounding.

The view from the room is fantastic!! Furthermore the owner of the place is very nice, interested in his customers and we had Really good conversations. He also showed his farm and the surrounding area, which I liked very much.

Everything: the room is very comfortable, clean and pretty, the location is 5-10min away from the cave temple in a very calm area with an amazing view on the mountain, dinner and breakfast were really good, the host is amazingly friendly and very caring. He brought us some snack before dinner, we discussed a couple of hours during very tasty and generous dinner, we tasted bananas and coconuts from the « garden », he took us on a tour of his « village ». A memory that we will for sure keep with us back to France.

For those who love nature and serene vibes of rural lifestyle, this place is a MUST! We instantly fell in love with it and felt so welcomed by the warm greeting of the host. Ruwan(hopefully I got his name correctly) is such a kind and sweet man who always checked up on us to make sure we were doing well. The room is spacious and spotlessly clean. Sunrise was seen from the bed with beautiful view of mountain and farm. Ruwan aslo took us for a walk around the village which was very interesting and enjoyable. Ruwan showed us many different type of local plants and we shared lots of things about our two countries. We could tell how much he loves and cares about what he’s doing. Great time with him. Another best part is the food there!!! We had dinner at the place and it was just like a buffet. So many dishes!!! They were all truly yummy. Ruwan even took us to the bus stop on his vehicle. Was so kind of him. Thanks so much Ruwan🙏 We did love everything about your place, the hospitality and kindness of you and your family, your kind father. We would always look for a chance to come back someday in future. We can not recommend enough your place to every single traveler if coming to Dambulla!!!

Could not stay longer

Ruwan was extremely welcoming and his food was so good ! His garden tour was so nice, he bring us until the river, we saw many monkeys, peacocks, a beautiful wildlife and his plantation (fruits, vegetables, spices). Was so interesting! Thank you !

Ruwan is the most hospitable host with a beautiful place. The view is amazing, the food was delicious and Ruwan showed his wonderful farm to us, it was fantastic! Thank you for the nice conversations and for the very relaxing stay!

People, you can't miss this place! We travel for such places and people! Ruwan and his family are fantastic people! During our stay, we felt like VIP guests! We were taken care of all the time - Ruwan and his family brought us coffee, tea, juices, sweets all the time! They don't even want money for these extras! This is crazy! Ruwan took us on a tour of his farm, showed us how to grow some vegetables, fruits, cinnamon, pepper and much more! When it comes to food - as someone wrote earlier... this family deserves a Michelline star... the variety of food we got in the queue was simply amazing! It was a real feast, new flavors, everything is organic, fresh... Amazing! Ruwan is a great person who enjoys spending time with his guests, who quickly become his friends 😊 The host has a lot of knowledge and is very generous! At the end, he gave me some Ayurvedic oil because he saw that a some bug had bitten me... for free, of course... he didn't want to accept any money... WHAT A PLACE! WHAT A FAMILY! People - there's nothing to wait for! Apart from that - the room is beautiful, clean, the bathroom looks like a spa... and this view of the sun rising... We highly recommend it! 🙌
