We have been very fortunate to stay at this homestay. It has been fantastic! We loved everything: the room, very comfortable, the lush surroundings, the views, the exquisite food, the well-thought-out details, the organization of the tours,... But above all, what we appreciated the most was the care and help the owners gave us. We definitely recommend Lake Wind without any doubt! We’re taking home beautiful memories of our stay in Habarana and we hope to return someday!

Everything was perfect

Nuostabi vieta gamtos prieglobstyje. Atskiri nameliai suteikia privatumo, puikiai sutvarkyta aplinka, švaru tiek viduje, tiek lauko erdvėse. Šeimininkai ypatingai draugiški, paslaugūs ir nuoširdūs, pasirūpins viskuo, kad jūsų kelionė būtų sklandi. Gausūs ir skanūs Šri Lankietiški  pusryčiai pranoko mūsų lūkesčius. Taip pat ir vakarienė, kurią užsisakėme pas šeimininkę. Labai rekomenduojame šią vietą, nes kokybė tikrai pranoksta kainą.

Huge room, which was super clean, thoughtfully laid out and quiet. Gorgeous property with nature everywhere and plenty of places to relax. Absolutely the sweetest hosts who went out of their way to organise trips like a safari, cook incredible food and make us feel comfortable.

Very welcoming and helpful family, they made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast every morning in the tree house. Food is great and good value for money! Thank you for hosting us!

The best place we stayed at! The room was spacious and clean. Each room has its own terrace, and there’s also plenty of seating in the beautiful garden. Every morning, we had breakfast in the treehouse overlooking the lake. Gamini and his wife are such lovely hosts. He picked us up from the train station, organized a safari and an Ayurveda treatment for us, and took us on a tour to see Sigiriya/Pidurangala Rock and the temples in Dambulla. His wife prepared delicious dinners and breakfasts for us. They always made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. The Wi-Fi was also good.

Gamini and his wife were amazing! Both so helpful and friendly, and the food was incredible! Great location, very peaceful. They seemed to have thought of everything and were happy to help us throughout our stay. We would definitely stay again! We were picked up from the train station (despite a long delay) and for free, and took a day trip with Gamini and another couple to Sigiryia and Polonnaruwa, and he was friendly and thoughtful throughout! Breakfast was a treat and served in the treehouse with great views overlooking the lake.

A true gem – peaceful, generous, unforgettable Lakewind was an absolutely exceptional stay. The hosts – a kind and attentive couple – take care of everything with love and grace. The place is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and full of thoughtful details. From fresh coconuts and coffee to help with meals and breathtaking views from a treetop terrace – everything was offered with genuine hospitality and without hidden costs. They were always on time, discreet, and incredibly caring, even adjusting meals to fit our dietary needs. One of the most heartfelt and honest places we’ve ever stayed. Highly recommended!

It’s a peaceful oasis which is new and clean and overlooks a beautiful lotus covered lake. There are all kinds of bird life in the garden including wild peacocks. The hosts have created a paradise and were truly the most accommodating and kind hosts we met. We actually moved there from an alternate guest house in Habarana because the first one was in a dreadful state and very noisy. The Lake Wind is just the opposite. We are two older cousins, discerning travellers, seeking comfort at our ages and had the two rooms with lots of space in each suite. Big clean bathroom. We had a delicious dinner cooked by our hosts and then a delicious breakfast served up in a gorgeous hut on stilts overlooking the lake. I recommend this place as the best place to stay if you want to see the sights around Habarana. It’s convenient to all attractions. It’s far enough away from the main road to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep on the big comfortable beds. The showers have good pressure and hot water- unlike the first place we had stayed at. They even provided a plug socket for all shapes of electrical plugs.
