Everything was perfect! Hot water worked. Good water pressure. Clean comfortable and spacious room. Very accommodating hosts. Generous breakfast. I will miss this place. My favorite accommodation in Sri Lanka.

The owners were so nice and welcoming... i am gluten free and they tried their best to understand what is that to adapt my breakfast 🍳 Egg Hoppers were super good!! They arranged it for me and there is always fresh juice, fruit and something sweet and coffee or tea. They take your pictures for your memories 🤗 There is a walk path just behind and you can have an early or evening walk if you want through very very beautiful scenery!! Several light points with warm light! You will understand this comment when you travel around sri lanka..they normally use really white light lights! The warm color was very nice

The cold shower...even though they have a water heater was not working. And Sri Lanka is not SO hot that you really need a cold shower..warmer water would have been appreciated. You can hear all the intimacy from the other room. If you don't mind...you can enjoy it then 😂

Location was ideal. It's located on the edge of a wetland teeming with birds and has a raised platform for viewing or enjoying your meals. Hosts were extremely kind and attentive. I used the TukTuk service of the host on 2 days, his prices were more than fair, but more importantly, he quickly got a good read on what would interest me and made many impromptu stops pointing out things that interested me. I never felt rushed. Highly recommend, especially for bird watchers. This place lived up to its high rating score.

I wish I had more than one night in this beautiful property. From before arrival to departure the hosts could not have done more to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. They reached out to see if they could offer any assistance and after hearing we were travelling via train, offered to pick us up in their tuk. Although it was only 2 km from the station, we were grateful as it started raining just before we arrived. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink and shown the rooms. It’s a very private property, set apart from the main house, and offers 2 separate rooms which are perfect for families and small groups. The rooms are well designed and appointed with mosquito nets, a/c and hot water. There are great views from inside and out, with a number of different areas to sit, relax and enjoy the lake views. We enjoyed a fantastic home cooked dinner in the outdoor covered dining area and breakfast in the elevated hut on the lakefront which was perfect for watching all the birds. The dining area also had a fridge (if you want to byo), kettle and filtered water. We chose this place due to its proximity to Hurulu (the hosts also helped with organising the safari), but I hope to return and enjoy more of the great food and hospitality.

Everything was perfect. The location is amazing, it felt like waking up in a little paradise with the singing and you can have a free safari just waking up a couple of meters down the road. The area is extremely safe and friendly and there are few small shops which are super convenient. On the top, the hosts, a really nice Sri Lankan family, were amazing, they prepared me a nice breakfast at the treehouse, picked me from the bus station and also drove me back early in the morning. And lastly they gave me home produced mangos. Highly recommended if you want to relax and enjoy nature.

Best homestay in Habarana. Great hospitality by the host. Gamini and his family will cater to all your needs. Food was homemade and well prepared. The rooms were clean, tidy and spacious. The breakfast sitting in the treehouse was a great experience. Ample parking space available. WiFi was functional.

The location was peaceful and picturesque and the family hosting us was incredibly warm and welcoming, going above and beyond to make us feel at home – truly wonderful! The meals they prepared were the highlight of our stay, with the best home-cooked Sri Lankan food we’ve ever tasted. An unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic hospitality and stunning surroundings.

We spend here our first four nights in Sri Lanka and the bar was set high. Very welcoming, warm and gentle hosts who made everything we feel comfortable and relaxed. We do not had to bother about anything. Food, transportation by tuc tuc to Sigiriya, Dambulla, Habarana cultural center, safari and driver organisation to our next destination was set by the hosts. The bungalow is located in a beautiful garten with terrace on the lake side.Close by there is a tree house over the lake, where we could watch many exotic birds. It is peaceful and middle in the nature. Thank you and big hugs.
