Sand Dollar House Hiriketiya

The property is a little piece of heaven. The room is connected to your very own private garden with an outdoor shower and bed, with great shadow so you can experience a fresh place in the heat of Hiriketiya. The hosts are lovely and speak great English. The breakfast is local. We felt very welcome 🙏 and wish them nothing but the best. 10 minutes walk from the beach (maximum)

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful accommodation. The room was charming and very comfortable. The highlight was definitely the delicious, traditional breakfast – fresh, local ingredients with a vegan option. Roshani was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was perfect for our stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an authentic and welcoming experience!

Breakfast was really yum - plenty of food, and options slightly changed each day. Really yum.

Main feedback is; sweeping the little patio area daily would be welcomed (which I think they did, but also I noticed it got kinda dusty so not sure). Making sure there were spoons so I could make morning coffees. Perhaps some access to milk would have been a bonus, but not super fussed. The day bed also looked really inviting, but when it rained it all became wet so I couldn't really use it; so, perhaps better management of that area.

Sand Dollar House is so charming. We had the warmest welcome and hospitality from Roshani and her family, all going out of there way to make us feel at home whilst also getting a very local experience. The accommodation itself is magical, we loved the courtyard/kitchen/living space surrounded by nature and full of greenery. It’s a great place to relax or eat. At night we saw fireflies and in the day we saw monkeys. Roshani made us very filling Sri Lankan breakfasts which made us very happy. It is also great to see how sustainable the family have made the place with a water filter refill and an environmentally friendly shower. The bathroom is really nice and the bed is large and comfortable. Everything we needed. We Would highly recommend Sand Dollar House to anyone.

Sand Dollar House is our favourite accommodation we’ve had so far during our trip around Sri Lanka. The room is spacious and clean and has so many nice homely touches. The bathroom has a hot shower and the bed is super comfy and massive!! The private outdoor area is also so lovely and nice to hang out in especially during wet weather and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The host family are so kind and committed to sustainability which we loved, the water filter was such a great addition! Thank you so much for hosting us and looking after us so attentively, we will be back!!!

Absolutely wonderful and accomodating family running this place, who are doing their best to run it in an environmentally friendly way. Great location, very close to the beach. Good AC and WiFi. Also one of the best traditional breakfasts we had in Sri Lanka.
