Sand Dollar House Hiriketiya

So glad we chose to stay here during our time in Hiriketiya! The family are welcoming and polite and offered a great intro to the house and it’s amenities. Breakfast was served promptly each morning with a variety of choices and the house offered a fridge and kettle for anything additional we wanted to keep (I.e fresh fruit or hot drinks). Gayashan and his family were super helpful with any requests or questions and their English is fantastic! We couldn’t recommend Sand Dollar House more!

Loved my stay here! You actually have your own small house with garden, hammock etc. Hot shower, good wifi, good breakfast which was a bit different everyday with local things to try. And the family (and dogs) are super friendly. Small walk to the beach, but lovely natural surroundings and passing by some shops and restaurants.

Gayashan and Roshani were so lovely to deal with. The house and space is very beautiful and relaxing. Great location set back from the busy areas of Hiriketiya but still very close to the beach

Room was a little dark but really this was fine as there is a lovely little space to hang out in outside.

Me and my boyfriend's stay in Sand Dollar House was TRULY EXCEPTIONAL! I cannot think of any negative feedbacks as Gayshan's family are very much welcoming and they pay attention in every small details and attends to our needs on a daily basis. I love the homestay's interior and coziness at the same time and will definitely make you feel that you wanted to stay longer. Breakfast was splendid! I highly recommend this homestay most especially to couples who wants to have a perfect getaway at a reasonable price. It is so worth it! The host's family always make sure that all their guest will have a wonderful and memorable experience during their stay as they always go beyond the extra mile. They made my birthday week such a lovely one by surprising me with a small celebration with a cake and balloons. :) In regards to location, it is also close by to the nice beaches whether you like to surf or just to swim and chill under the sun. There are also some amazing restaurants around the area to try local food and massage place to relax after surfing. :) The Dickwella town is also very near if you wish to buy fresh fruits or some grocery shopping. I'm really happy that I decided to go to Hirekitiya to spend my birthday surf week there and I'm very glad that I chose Sand Dollar House to stay in. Also I won't forget their adorable dogs, Bella and Lily who made our stay a very fun one. :) Me and my boyfriend are looking forward of going back to Sand Dollar House on our next vacation as the way they made us feel like a part of their family more than a guest really touches our heart. :)

Sand Dollar House is a beautiful oasis in the most amazing setting. Hiriketiya itself is gorgeous, and Sand Dollar House makes it even better. Gayashan and Roshani are amazing hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, even inviting us to to their family new year celebrations! As for the homestay, it’s beautifully decorated and has absolutely everything you need. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Hiriketiya and highly recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sand Dollar Guest House. Gayashan and his lovely family welcomed us like we were part of their family. His wife cooked dinner for us twice and provided a lovely breakfast each morning. We played cards and games with their cute daughter and had wonderful conversations with them all. The accommodation is exactly like the pictures. There is a lovely AC bedroom with an ensuite and a private covered garden with a kitchen benchtop, hammock, dinning table and outdoor shower. There is a private entrance to your accommodation so you can decide on your level of interaction with the family. The property is located a short 5 min walk to the beach. There are loads of restaurants, juice bars, shops within a 2 to 5min walk. The property is located next to jungle so you will see loads of monkeys, birds and interesting lizards. Gayashan is also studying marine biology and can share his knowledge on the local wildlife. Excellent value for money and you will be supporting a wonderful local family so book up!

The property and the family running the guest house were perfect. There was nothing that we disliked.

An extraordinarily beautiful homestay with great attention to detail, perfect facilities and an excellent location: you are away from the tourist hustle and bustle, in the middle of nature and still within a few minutes on the beach. Brilliant! Gayashan and his entire family are a real gem, warm and helpful. Even when I stepped into a sea urchin while surfing, he was immediately there as a marine biologist and was a great help. The room is clean and very well equipped and above all has a wonderful outdoor area to relax, enjoy the tasty breakfast and experience nature. We can only recommend everyone to stop by here. All the best for the future my friend, see you again someday and many thanks for everything.
