Thal Sewana

Excellent location close to both rocks with a beautiful view. The house is quiet and spacious, with a large terrace. There are monkeys in the garden and even larger ones across the street. The room is basic but clean and comfortable. The only traffic you hear is the occasional tuk-tuk passing by. The lady of the house is extremely friendly and helpful, and she is also an excellent cook. We enjoyed a very tasty dinner and a lovely breakfast, both nicely presented. Do keep an eye out for a wild elephant that occasionally appears further up the street! Highly recommended.

Nothing not to like.

Bardzo miły właściciel, o 5 rano odprowadził nas pod wejście na Pidurangala, dobre, lokalne śniadania, w sam raz żeby zapoznać się z tutejszą kuchnią. Piękna okolica, dużo zieleni.

Pokój trochę mały, ale nie przeszkadzało nam to za bardzo :)

I like the homely feel of Thal Sewana. Excellent home cooked food and personal service. The accommodation is basic but is clean and comfortable and there's lots to explore on foot close by.

They rely on electricity to heat water and unfortunately we had a power cut while we were there so it was a cold shower or nothing! Make sure you take all toiletries as there's almost nothing provided (although I didn't ask as we were only there one night and it didn't really matter).

Poloha ubytovania je len kúsok pešo od skaly Pidurangala a je obklopená krásnou prírodou. V okoli sú aj opice. Izba bola jednoduchšia, ale čistá. Majiteľ bol veľmi milý, láskavý a vždy ochotný pomôcť. Zaujímal sa o naše plány, aby nám vedel poradiť, naplánovať deň alebo nasmerovať, kam sa oplatí ísť. Zabezpečil nám odvoz z letiska v skorých ranných hodinách a dokonca nás ubytoval skôr, aby sme mali pohodlie. Raňajky boli výborné — vždy nám pripravil niečo zo srílanskej kuchyne, čo bolo naozaj famózne. Pomohol nám aj so safari, lístkami na vlak do Elly a s výletom do Polonnaruwy.

Super aardige, lieve gastvrouw. Locatie is in een rustige omgeving op korte loopafstand van de pidurangula rock, top! Uitgebreid, goed ontbijt en nette kamer. Goede prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Safari om olifanten te zien vanuit dit verblijf geregeld, was ook prima.

Niks

Great location, perfectly located between both rocks. We did the sunset hike to the lion rock and the sunrise hike to the Pidurangala Rock. Saman was super kind and woke up with us at 5am to bring us safely to the entry of the hike (as wild elephants are in this area) which is only a 5 min walk. In addition, Saman helped us organize our full next days travels, based on our wishes. We told him what we would like to do/see and he helped us with everything and recommend great additions. He did it in a perfectly nice and accommodating way which left us amazed. He also helped us book the famous train ride to Ella. Food was also super delicious! We could go on and on… We would just recommend everyone to stay there to make the most out of their Sri Lanka Trip.

Proximity to the forest and nature and Lion Rock

Our stay at Thal Sewana was really sweet. The accomodation doesn’t have much amenities, but the host was so kind and helpful! He helped us organise a safari and did help us organise our trip to Ella! Thanks for everything. :)))
