CAThis property is close to the metro, convention center, the arena, restaurants and a market. Love the area, location is great and close enough to walk to the National Mall. Property was clean and had all we needed, for the value it was great, very affordable. The host, Thang, is wonderful! We enjoyed chatting to him and he was very helpful. We dropped our bags off early and when we checked in he had them in the room. Would definitely book again.
USThe bedroom and bathroom doors had locks that worked.
- Owner was friendly at first, offered me two bottles of water when I arrived. But then it got uncomfortable. When I left the next morning, he complimented my bag, outfit, saying “cute” and was in my space as I was leaving. There is a chair next to the door and while I was putting on my shoes, he emerged from his desk and walked up to inspect my bag and outfit. I respect the need to take your shoes off at the door, but when I got back, I kept them on as I was changing into a dress for an evening event and felt uneasy. I did not want to be cornered again on my way out. - There were two mismatched towels hanging on the bathroom rack. One was unusable as it was rough and mildewy. Also, that is NOT your private bathroom. He used it several times to loudly clear phlegm from his throat, as late as midnight, at times. Also, another honest 1-star review has a photo of fungus on the shower spout grout. It's still there. - The TV was on blast and he talked loudly on the phone to what I assume were colleagues. The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everything. - I have stayed in AirBnbs in Chicago’s Chinatown and they are immaculate and smell nice. This was not the case here. Owner cooked pungent foods without putting on a fan or opening a window and the entire house, including the private room, reeked. The final night, I had to put on a fan in the room as it was stinky and stuffy. Air blew right in my face. I cook lots of different foods from the world over, I always use the fan above the stove to neutralize any odors in my own home. - Thankfully I was out most of the time. But, when I checked out this morning, I scanned the living room and kitchen from the front door area and was disgusted by the food mess and clutter. You’re free to live how you want in your own house. If you advertise on Booking.com that this is a clean, quiet place with its own bathroom, you better take a few moments each day to clean up after yourself - especially in the main area of the house.

USBrownstone feel with Washington charm
Mold, no air conditioning, no wash clothes, old towels, dehumidifier, no kitchenette, dirty bathtub, dirty
SGThong was extremely accommodating and provided quick responses to questions and inquiries. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable my friend and I had some of the best sleeps here! The location is a quick 10-minute walk to the nearest metro and is close to multiple bus stops. Thank you for hosting us and we will definitely be back here if we are in D.C.!
DEGood location, free parking lot
Lots of dust under the bed, on lamps and in the bathroom. Also there were bedbugs in the bed. We now have bedbug bites all over our bodies. Furthermore, there was a huge cockroach in the bathroom. There were only 2 towels (for 2 people), almost empty bottle of soap and no toilet paper.

AEThe owner helped in carrying our bags to the Basement (which was a shock that we have to live in the basement)
The apartment is misrepresented in the description. 1. It's a BASEMENT Apartment. Felt like a dungeon. The owner stays on the ground level. Hence it's not a full apartment. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT ITS A BASEMENT. 2. The approach stairway was narrow and dirty. 3. There was a stale stench and smell in the basement rooms. 4. Location is not good. Dont feel safe in the area. Walk to the train was about 8 minutes. Nothing around this location. 5. No basic toiletries provided. 6. Towels had a smell 7. Very small room 8. Extremely expensive price for this place
PLThe conditions of the accommodation differed from those shown in the offer. We spent an hour on site and then found a hotel at the same price. 1. The room is located on the first floor of a detached house where the owner lives. The kitchen and living room cannot be used. 2. The location is also objectionable, we did not feel safe there. 3. In addition, the room was dirty. The bedding was all crumpled and stale. 4. The floor, the carpet were also dirty, there were dust and rubbish. The fridge was covered with a strange substance. 5. There is fungus in the bathroom! 6. But the worst was a hole in the floor, with rubbish in it and a pipe where bugs or other animals could enter. Although we did not stay in this accommodation, the owner does not want to refund our money and has stopped writing back!
SEThe owner, the location, the possibility to park directly outside the house, the fridge in thebroom
The lack of air-con, the misleading pictures of the lounge and kitchen. There isn't any air-conditioni going in thebroom: it's just a blower, which unfortunately wasn't sufficient amidst the super hot weather. We couldn't use either the lounge or the kitchen, so I don't really know why they are posted.
