Suite Galarous Island

This accommodation has a small reception at the base of the block and we were met by an English speaking receptionist on arrival. The room was spacious and has a good kitchen/diner in a separate room with a settee. The facilities were good for anyone wanting to make their own meals but the accommodation also provides a good breakfast. The shower and beds were good and adequate stiorage exists in the rooms.

The only thing that might be a problem to some is the fact that the accommodation is situated a little away from the main centre. We didn't really find it a problem as it was only about a fifteen minute walk.

This place surpassed all of our expectations! Even though we arrived later than planned, we were promptly sent a message with detailed instructions in case we had trouble finding the location. The amenities here are exceptional, including excellent AC, cozy beds, plush towels, abundant hot water, and daily room cleaning. The breakfast experience was delightful, thanks to Katrina, who is not only incredibly kind but also prepares delicious dishes! Each morning brings a new breakfast menu, which typically consists of refreshing yogurt, flavorful granola, a delightful fruit bowl, refreshing juice, aromatic coffee, and perfectly cooked eggs. Additionally, they went the extra mile by arranging taxis for us and providing laundry service at an affordable $5, ensuring that our clothes were cleaned and delivered to us on the same day.

While the walk to town, which takes approximately 10 minutes, didn't bother me personally, it's important to consider this aspect, especially if mobility is a concern for you.

Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was freshly prepared. Fresh towels were provided some days. Wi-Fi worked most of the time - good for the Galapogos. Reasonable value for money ( cash only) 10-15 mins walk to town

We had no hot water for showers and ants in the room. While the bed was comfortable, it was broken. There was no change available when we checked in which was then not returned until we had to ask again at check out resulting in differing views on how much change was due (with language barrier it was difficult to argue so we left feeling like we had been short changed)! would recommend you bring exact change for your bill.

Breakfast was very good! Comfortable beds. Sheet clean - changed every day. Apartment was nice cleaned daily. Location - 15 min walk to city center/port.

Apartments needs some renovation!! The roof needs to be repaired because it leaks terribly in the bathroom! The kitchen equipment is old/used and should be replaced. Shower water is just worm.

Let's start with the positive things: Breakfast was very good. There was free water refill. The room was spacious and had aircon with a working kitchen.

The room was thin walled, expect to hear other guests, dogs barking and cars from the streets. Location is out of town, 20 minutes walk or a cheap cab ride. Water pressure is limited to non-existent at some points. Now for the absolute no-go experience. We pro-longed our stay 2 days in advance to the end of our original booking. On the last day of our original booking we were on a day trip with limited to no reception at all, being in the open sea. I received messages from the frontdesk lady to call back and let them know once we are back, which I did once being back on the island with actual reception. Apparently we had to switch rooms, because opening the door to our room revealed luggage and items which did belong to us with all our stuff being gone. The ladies revealed to us that "everything is fine" and all of our items have been shifted to the new room. Nothing of that has been communicated to us the days before which clearly had to be known before by management. The actual day we were even seen by the ladies without a word about the room change. Nothing was missing of our belongings so I dont think it was bad intention. However, in my eyes forcefully moving guests belongings without their knowledge and consent is an absolute no-go and a dealbreaker. Moreover faults of management and miscommunication should not be the problem and burden of the guest.

Breakfast was good, location also good, walkable distance to city, because its a small city. Host was very friendly and helpful. Room was also good.

Good setup with a sitting room with a 2 person sofa and a makeup area with mirror and chair and a dining area with table and chairs and a large fridge upon entry with the bedroom and bathroom behind that with a door that can be closed between the two areas for privacy. No cooking facilities any longer. A huge jug of ottled water is supplied. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean. Shower was excellent although it did not seem to have hot water but we didn't need it so we didn't ask. Maybe it's available. Staff were wonderful: cheerful, friendly and eager to help in any way. They helped us with taxis and with finding a local doctor. They also did a full load of laundry for us and dried and folded everything nicely in just a few hours for $5. Breakfasts were excellent and the main dish varied daily from bacon, ham or pancakes along with eggs, juice, fresh fruit, granola and yogurt and coffee. Location was in a quiet neighborhood a little away from downtown but only a few minutes walk from the main street. Payment is by cash only.

A few more hooks to hang things in the bathroom would have been nice as would someplace to put toiletries. Similarly, suitcases ended up on the floor as space for them was limited. A chair or a rack would have been nice.

Overall, the price was good for the apartment. They were very friendly and wanted to make sure we were doing ok. They were very communicative via Whatsapp and helped us arrange for pick-up from the ferry. It's walking distance to the main street, and fairly close to the Darwin Research Center. They also shared with us a map where they pointed out points of interest. The apartment has a fridge and water if that's useful for you. Breakfast was nice, cooked hot for us in the morning with fruits, juices.

The room felt old and outdated. We couldn't get water in the shower to consistently be warm. While it was walking distance, it was still about a 15-20 min walk into the main area, which is not too bad, but when you have a really early morning, it makes a difference. Wi-fi was slow, but sounds like that's standard for Galapagos, so I'm not sure if that could've been better. Also we had to pay in all cash, which was inconvenient. There isn't someone at the front desk at all times. Was a little hard to communicate, but we used as much Spanish as we could (and used Google translate as needed).
