Hay View Lodges - Barn End

Excellent accommodation but we wondered if additional side lighting in the lounge/ kitchen area would help with the lighting in that room.

The location

The hosts, Jim/Tom and Karen were very warm, welcoming and helpful, providing snacks and information and even giving us a lift back to Hay-on-Wye so we didn't have to spend more money on a taxi. The location is very idyllic and remote, with a magnificent view of the Black Mountains and the Malverns. It was a nice surprise to be greeted by sheep, cockerels and dogs in the morning! Finally, the accommodation itself was pleasant, with comfortable leather chairs and Chesterfield in the living room, equally comfy beds in the bedroom and a clean, ensuite bathroom.

Despite having radiators, the rooms were still a bit chilly.

Loved being able to sit on the cute.little porch and.listen to the birds, the chickens and peace and quiet, and to enjoy the views. Really nice barn conversion and lovely welcoming host.

Maybe not the easiest place to get to, but that is just.the area for you

Since I was hiking I needs a good bed and a good shower. This place had both! Plus got away late in the morning since enjoyed the first coffee chatting with hosts partner. Plus nice decor if you’re into fishing!😂

Great location with spectacular views. Friendly helpful hosts who provided us with food in an emergency. Fascinating barn conversion. Recommended stay.
