Host & Stay - Golden Lion Apartments

The view & location is incredible, can’t ask for better.

The front door handle was hanging off when we arrived & I was worried that we’d get the blame for it & charged for the damages but it didn’t bother us as the door still functioned. The stairs to the top can be a lot if you have a lot of bags but it’s ok, I’d still want that same apartment again next time, we loved it.

Great location and easy to find. Nice chill spot near the sea and places to eat and drink. Would go again.

Could have done with a deeper clean as dust was in the corner of the lamp and windows covered in poop on the out side. It was really awkward to get in through the front door.

Great location and well appointed apartment with all you need for a self catering staff in the heart of the town.

The views from the bedroom windows was really bad I would suggest they put a transparent film on them as they spoil the great quality of the apartment.

Facilities....cooker didn't work.....no microwave even though listed. Toilet black in flush ring. Cobwebs on ceiling..very poor communication regarding the cooker not working...they did nothing. Checkin time very late 4pm !!!! Actually left the property 1 day early due to cooker issues as I have specific dietary requirements and couldn't cook my own food.

It was setup for a couple but only one dinner plate and one fork and one teaspoon. We booked it for 6 nights One loo roll and no oven tray for grilling. We also had no washing up liquid or washing machine powder 🤔 so we had to go buy some things Sofa needed a good clean...but we had a good time. Parking was hard to find like everywhere. Staircase is very narrow and tight so pack light.

Cleanliness and lack of acceptance from agent

My wife and I arrived in Whitby at about 14.00 and could check in at 16.00 via door code and key code box number supplied. We had stayed here before about 4 years previous so was aware of great location opposite the swing bridge., and close to train station and bus station. The Flat was number 2 and was clean comfortable and warm, with tea coffee facilities and easy accessible WIFI. There are no shower shampoos / gels supplied but we took our own. Also no micro-wave which could affect some guests but not ourselves. We also only had one tea spoon but again no problem to ourselves and I'm sure the proprietor's would have sorted if reported. No television in the bedroom but again we were out most of the time so the one in the lounge was acceptable. We booked again through previous experience of a short weekend break and booked again for this three night stay Friday - Monday. Would definitely book again.
