Just perfect, very spacious, cosy, hot tub was fabulous and we were very close to the centre

Lovely place to stay, perfect views and location. Hot tub was great and bed was lovely and comfy

Only suggestion would be possibly a tv in the bedroom

No welcome letter from the owner. The whole cottage needs a tidy up. Outdoor furniture was not usable and no BBQ as stated on booking info.

The location of the apartment was realy good, parking allocation was a short walk away but good as parking is difficuly to find. Apartment was really nice and comfortable, hot tub was good and view was good.

On last night a family moved in above and they seemed to be running round constantly and you could hear them through the bedroom ceiling while we were trying to get to sleep

How close it was to centre & beach plus the hot tub was fantastic. Lounge & kitchen facilities really good. Was able to check in early & had own parking.

Entrance to property untidy, surrounding properties looked rough. Outside furniture old, dirty & broken, not suitable to enjoy being outside plus weeds everywhere & patio dirty. Bed far too soft, no back support....this was for a 50th birthday surprise but did not have the wow factor I was hoping for.

Great location, central with a good view. Apartment clean and comfortable. Great view from the balcony. Easy parking and key collection process.

Check out time of 11am would be ideal :) Small amount of mould in the bathroom

Date of stay: April 2024 I recently stayed at what was advertised as "Esk Cottage," expecting a cozy, luxurious cottage retreat. Instead, I was surprised to find that the accommodation is actually a basement flat, which is accessed by descending 42 steps from the main road. The misrepresentation was a disappointing start to our stay. Given the steep price of over £300 per night, my expectations were high, but the reality did not match up. The amenities and furnishings were basic at best. An additional inconvenience was the parking situation; the car parked on a neighbours drive located about 150 yards away, which was not ideal. Furthermore, the quality of the sleeping arrangements was particularly substandard. The mattress was not only uncomfortable with a noticeable hollow, but it also had stains, which is unacceptable for any price point, let alone a premium one. Overall, I feel the advertisement of Esk Cottage is misleading, and the facilities do not live up to the luxury price tag. Future travellers should be aware that this is not a standalone cottage but a basement flat with basic amenities and should consider whether the offering justifies the high cost before booking. I have heart problems and booked in the belief that it was a cottage in every sense of the word; a single story dwelling on a flat piece of ground.
