16 John Walker House River Views, Parking and Lift

The apartment is clean, tastefully furnished and provided with all necessary amenities. The location is very convenient for the centre of York, and there is a very nice view of the River Foss from a balcony. The private parking is spacious.

The keys have to be picked up from a key safe in an archway in a neighbouring alley. Arriving after dark if was impossible to locate this until a mobile phone with a torch was fetched. The key safe was covered in bird droppings. The fob to access the parking was missing - presumably dropped by the previous tenant returning it. The out of hours service was not available after 9.00 pm - the information provided in advance did not indicate that there were time limits on the out of hours service.

Very good location. Apartment was very clean and comfortable.

Getting into the property was complicated. Why are the keys kept so far away? That said all the instructions were correct and everything worked but it was a daunting list of instructions.

Great position, clean and comfortable. Would happily return when next in York.

It’s in a great location, close to everything you could want. Parking was great in a secure car park. The canal & the wildlife were lovely to look out onto from the balcony.

The mattresses were awful, really cheap & old so bad I couldn’t sleep. The shower hose wouldn’t stay up and just dangled from the fitting so could only be hand held. The twin room was sparsely furnished, with no mirror or dressing table. Such a shame it just needs a little care. The key save where you collect the keys is covered in pigeon poo - not a great start to the holiday.

A bit complicated to follow instructions when alone and on foot. But received a marvellous service from the lady at the Letting company who walked to meet me and show me where the keys were.

Couldn’t work out how to turn on the heated towel rails. But that’s a minor detail

The apartment was ideal for our needs and in an excellent central location.

The apartment was fantastic. It was beautiful and clean. It had all the facilities you need, a home from home. The car park and apartment were really secure The balcony was a real.bonus too. We were lucky enough to see a kingfisher on the river just below us. It was really quiet and peaceful in the building as well. Any questions I had were answered promptly by the owner. Right by the apartment was a street with an amazing selection of restaurants, cafes and little shops and then just a few minutes to the centre of York. We will definitely be booking here again for a short break in York.

Absolutely nothing...apart from having to leave!!!
